DJs that mid-younger millennials came up on should be the ticket. Like Justice. Skrillex, Deadmau5 are from the same era so I'd imagine they'd pull a lot of people
People may not be actively listening to these artists in their day to day life anymore, but put them on a festival line up and people will gravitate to them out of pure nostalgic fun.
Seeing the T-Pain hype on the camp grounds W1 really sold it to me. Most of us probably wouldn't pay to go see a T-Pain concert but put him on a festival line up and we're going to show up and show out because why not?
The story, as it always has been since the beginning of time, is that youth is wasted on the young.
They didnt sell out the La sports arena show til day of wither but who gives a fuck. All the kiddies would give up their eyeballs and never using Tik Tock again to witness Daft Punk. So fuck em.

This.
I dont care too much to go a Deadmau5 show (playing at the Hollywood Bowl), but if he was playing at the Sahara or Outdoors, I should be there
Any reason why T Pain wasnt a set at the main/outdoor/sahara?

Because Heineken booked him, not Coachella. While he'd draw an enormous crowd at Coachella, he's kind of up there with Pitbull or Akon or Nelly to me - droves would show up to that show but Coachella doesn't typically touch the more mainstream, non critically acclaimed artists like that and I doubt they'd book him - I can't really think of many artists like that they have booked. Bonnaroo though absolutely would (and did, for that matter).
I really think Above @ Beyond sunset at Quasar would be a huge crowd!! if they keep that stage moving forward. I mean I would be there for the full set without question!!
Wishlistt/basically sonora acts id like to see, if we got like 2 of these next year id be ecstatic: underscores jane remover snow strippers the lemon twigs kelela grande mahogany spirit of the beehive mk.gee george clanton crumb slauson malone 1 geese jadu heart
Bigger acts: Amaarae Sampha mgmt king krule beach house tame impala caroline polacheck
Will never happen(probably): ratatat against all logic daft punk(obv)

Kinda on the note of Outdoor electronic closers, working on my mock and having a hard time thinking of anything on the level of Prydz, Chem Bros, Justice or Gesaffelstein (even Fisher x Lake & Everything Always). A lot of the names posted here don’t quite feel right, either because a. not the best timing with their latest album b. not really relevant anymore or c. just not as hyped as these ones. Simplest answer may be there just won’t be much of those at all next year and they’ll just put something else there. Wouldn’t be surprised if next year’s top electronic acts aren’t as strong as these last two years, unless they pivot to something different than what they’ve done recently.
Re: Quasar, given the apparently higher attendance for W2 sets (obviously wasn't there W1, just heard Bibi and Honey Dijon/Green Velvet drew smaller crowds, and every Quasar headliner was fucking packed W2) I wouldn't be surprised to see them go more in a kx5/Above & Beyond type direction compared to some of the DJs I see being mentioned here, although I feel like Keinemusik is so tailor made for that stage and vibe that that is the one act I'd bet on the most.
I saw the Honey Dijon solo set and had a blast! Was a great warmup for Justice.

My group kept pointing out that Justice and Gess were the last of the “I like EDM but like the good kind” type of billing. Agreed we’re gonna be in a drought for a bit.
I think Soulwax would be a big get with their new live show, but see that closing Mojave or getting a 745 slot on Outdoor

I know he’s not the same level as a Justice / Chem Bros but Black Coffee did multiple nights at MSG recently so he could do a big outdoor closer probably. Don’t recall when he performed at Chella last.

Could they play for 4 hours?
I honestly had to think about this for a sec...but yes...they could. It could/would be an extended Group Therapy. Which i feel they would book/promote it as.
