Adrienne closing out Sonora would be my dream booking that I would probably skip because I’ll be on some sort of substance that’ll push me to catch whatever the fuck is on at quasar
There's not enough couches in the Sonora for that set
Why Tame Impala again? Please no. I've seen them so many times.
Because Rufus --> Tame (with a fictional new album of course) or Rufus --> ODESZA (way worse choice than Tame in my opinion) is not a huge grab for the GP, but is a money printing machine for the type of late 20s to mid 30s festival goers who were Coachella regulars until this past year's lineup (or maybe past two years because a big part of that Reddit core inexplicably hated 2023's lineup which is just absolutely beyond me). For half of these guys, you could put literally anything else on a lineup and they'd buy a ticket just for that combo. FWIW I laughed out loud because I had Rufus --> Tame on Friday on my shitty mock I'm working on too.
Muse did it 2010 and 2014, Arcade Fire 2011 and 2014, Tame 2019 and 2025 would not really be that bad.
Noooo way Rufus is given the 4th headliner over Paramore, who would arguably be the 2nd biggest act after Rihanna on the line up
There is no way you are saying Paramore is bigger than Dua.
I mean Dua has only toured twice and Paramore has toured a bajillion times. So if theyre going by track record as to what seems to be a sure fire bet then its Paramore.

how does paramore touring a "bajillion" times without being a HL mean theyre a surefire bet as HL

You know they headlined Reading and Leeds 10 years ago right. When they were younger than even Dua is now? And had a power failure on stage which led to an amazing moment with the audience. And didnt they just headline some other festivals recently? This isnt to take away anything from Dua who will put in a great show but if somebody who feels unsure ( not me ) when it came to choosing between the 2 then they might just go with Hayley and co. And Paramore is going to be in stadiums this entire summer to boot. We still dont know what Dua is doing at all.

If GV is booking acts based on them opening stadium shows then I think it's finally time for Paul Toilet to face his cowardice head-on and finally book Widespread MF Panic.

Widespread Panic opening for The Stones is awesome.

Childers is a great opener too.
i just noticed that lol. kinda wild how some dates have club level artists opening whereas Childers is a full on arena/festival headline act

Both would get flawless reviews at Coachella from the usual attendees here.
"I don't usually listen to country but Tyler Childers had really great production values and it was just the perfect vibe for Indio."
"I haven't listened to Widespread Panic since one time in college when my nitrous dealer gave me a ride to the gas station but was surprised at how much I remembered of Porch Song! Was a perfect way to end my weekend on the fields. We were all Home Team. 10/10!"
I think a lot of y’all are inflating Paramore’s popularity LOL it’s a bit delusional to think they would pull a bigger crowd than Dua or anything close to No Doubt.
They would be like 3rd or 4th billed on their day. I think they’ve managed to stay more relevant than Blink 182, but they don’t give me the same nostalgia.

they sold out a whole ass arena tour and had a massive crowd for their headline set at boston calling. it helps that theyre REALLY good live now as well. they also are back to playing misery business lol

I know by current numbers it's obvi gonna be Dua. But I think at an American festival, Paramore would probably draw a bigger crowd. Which is why I threw arguably in there lol depending on what angle you're looking at

Not at all. Paramore IS No Doubt to a whole generation. They sold out two nights at The Forum last year. I think a lot of people underestimate the hold that Paramore and MCR had/has on people.

The same way Lana did it
Also, opening for Taylor Swift shouldn't be a knock on anyone. All 3 headliners this year would open for Taylor. As would 98% of the music world.

No Doubt was at one point one of the most popular bands in the US. Tragic Kingdom was the 4th best selling album in 1996 and 2nd best selling in 1997. Paramore never came anywhere close to that level of popularity.
Just listened to the new St Vincent record and I would very much like to see her at Coachella again supporting it. It’s quite good!
Where does she go this time though. She has done Outdoor twice in a row after being in Gobi twice in a row. Finally main stage? And Im curious to see if she does similar to Masseduction because it looks like its just her onstage right now. Second leg for MS was with the full band.

Well Paramore is the biggest act she has opening for her on the entire tour. People were pretty upset that when the Europe dates got announced they didnt say cause they wouldve tried for a ticket just to see them.

Those are my thoughts, Paramore is probably more my generation (I am 32) and while they were very popular, I don’t think they had the same impact as a No Doubt or Blink-182. Their best performing album peaked at 15. I see them as a 3rd name on their day.

Could see Annie orchestrating a custom show for Coachella if she got a main stage sub spot. If Paul somehow pulls a Taylor, can totally see St Vincent open (though I would personally loathe that).
I would really like to see The War on Drugs and Todd Terje return.
Any chance of Zach Bryan headlining next year? He is pretty huge right now and also doing Hangout so there is a connection. Some would say more Stagecoach appropriate but he has a lot of appeal right now.
