No, cause this is its own subforum. No rules baby. All thrrads are relevant. This how it all came to be when the big migration happened. Too much for one thread just in the fest section.
Oh I hear you. I don’t mind the Coachella activity on the board at all, some of y’all are cool as hell and it makes for a more engaging and active forum. But isn’t this thread going on while the 2026 thread is going on kind of overkill? What is there to discuss on this thread that isn’t being covered by the other coach threads?
At this point the 2026 thread is about desperately trying to manifest the headliners you specifically want for next year.
Right now, this lineup thread is now mostly about drugs, looking for small changes in the fine text of the dining section of the website, debating whether acts are DJ sets or live, posting videos of indie bands that should have been on the line up, ganging up on Supre, exchanging stolen site plan schematics behind the scenes and lining them up alongside Google Earth aerials to figure out if the Yuma has been extended by 10 feet, debating set times even though there is a thread for that, usually a fight or two, puns about Chappell Roan.
I always forget that I like trance lmao. Listening to a recent A&B mix as I catch up on work that I fell behind on for the past few days of lineup frenzy.
Is there any chance I can get all of Charli --> all of Horsegiirl --> a big chunk of Above & Beyond --> all of Travis? I am sure the answer is no but that makes some "not to be discussed publicly" plans pretty fucking clear for the weeeknd.

Please try to keep up.
Yes, except the ganging up thing. Although kind of sad there were 6 less weeks to pile on? Early lineup szn silver lining.
I have a feeling she is going to try and give a Beyonce 2018 type performance. Obviously will be hard to beat, but you know she will really give it her best.
You know what, this is a good point, and under the right circumstances I can imagine Gaga giving an equally impressive tribute to HBCUs.
She’s gonna try to out gay Charli and this battle will only be good for our entire culture
I have a feeling &me vs rampa and Adam port will be 2 of the quasar acts. Hoping w1 gets &me vs rampa. W2 definitely had the more “basic” acts so give them Adam Port lol
Ok I’m reading the Stereogum piece. Tom Breihan is fully on the “Coachella needs to book the exact pop stars that are popular this second and everything else is a legacy act” train now, which is fine, that’s his opinion, but then he says stuff specifically designed in a lab to rile me like:
“ At this point, the inclusion of K-pop idols almost feels rote. I haven’t been to Coachella when K-pop acts were on the bill, so I don’t know how they go over, but it just doesn’t seem that special anymore. The point, from what I can tell, is that it’s cool for these groups’ teams and fanbases to trumpet the fact that they’re playing at Coachella.”
TOM!!! It’s because they draw big crowds!!!!! That’s why they book them!!!! I don’t think you’re actually paying attention to festivals in your role as the guy who’s supposed to pay attention to festivals!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He missed the Dudamel thing though, but thats really for us locals. And like I said, that music starts playing and its going to make people stop in their tracks. They finally figured out how to make everyone a kid again either with Yo Gabba Gabba or a whole set with John Williams scores.

I don’t really care for K-Pop music but saw a chunk of 88rising and was mesmerized. Made sure I checked out blackpink because of that and also thought it was a complete spectacle. Those performances are so tight and amazing to watch. K-chella forever
I’m wondering if somehow Travis sets up some stage that’s not on the main stage for his closing performance. Like the way four tet and them did the ice rink
“ At Coachella, dance music mostly functions as its own gigantic, self-contained Sahara Tent festival, and the ravers have evidently not gotten tired of raving.” TOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!! You talk all the time about the last year you went to Coachella was 2015! They had the Yuma tent then too!! You should at least know a tiny bit about dance music if you’re going to make commentary like this!!!!

It would spare anyone from the crushing thing thats for sure if being all the way up front meant he wasnt gonna be anywhere near it. Like Gambino wasnt anywhere near the front of the stage for 80% of his show and that def turned some people off who waited for him. I was in front of the catwalk and it was great having him 20 feet away. People camped out for Bad Bunny when he had similar last year.

K-Pop draws crazy well at Coachella. I was at SSERAFIM and the Sahara was live. But they also book it because it does fucking enormous numbers on the livestream and I am sure they make bank on that.
One thing about this lineup that kind of makes me laugh is that clearly they looked at the heavy Latin and Asian emphasis on the top lines from last year in a "weak sales post mortem" type of meeting and decided that Latin music is not moving the needle but Asian acts are adding to it. The number of Latin second and third liners is down dramatically, but the amount of K-Pop acts on the second lines (well, I know XG are J-Pop but still a lot of fanbase overlap) increased by one. Thought that said something interesting about what is moving tickets and what is doing better on the livestream.
One tidbit to throw out there too was the Hits article like sorta bashing Coach for not booking Stray Kids? Well they werent looking for a k pop headliner. They wanted the other acts and they got em. As much as LN has a stranglehold on big K Pop tours in north america you can still see Gv is doing a good job and finding theirs amidst all that. Speaking of, whats the hype machine on BTS making it to 2026. Thats gonna be a battle. And that would easily leak if there was even a whisper. And the ticket market would go berserk.

If you defeat him at arm wrestling or shotgunning beers or something do you get his job as a side gig?
I wonder why Sonora acts before tickets but nothing else
I think its like a small nod. A "we got you fam" after this past one. Dropping almost 2 months early and having a stage lineup reveal with another one teased goes a long way. The biggest shocker would be if the schedule came out say, a week sooner than normal.

No one should trust me to do a monthly column about hardcore music so no.
can’t wait to experience constant glare in my eyes during the 2 PM VTSS Gobi set!
Definitely not a popular opinion but I quite enjoy the early dance sets that are in the Gobi and Mojave. It's a nice change of pace from the usual indie pop/rock that's usually playing at that time, and it alone makes late night conflicts easier. Everyone always complains about Overmono in the Gobi but I loved it because if they played any later it was gonna be to 50 people
I think one interesting point that article makes is that it really feels like the undercard is super specific sub-genres - talk-punk, hardcore, dark shoegaze, punk, etc. Even the one emo-adjacent band is like a true twinkly guitar emo band (vs self) vs. like an Oso Oso that's more indie-emo
I think its more thank just coincidental and maybe an actual booking theory why most of the rock acts they book aren't typical indie like MJ Lenderman, Alwayys, etc. and instead are like Viagra Boys, Amyl & the Sniffers, etc.
