What is the likelihood in your (general your) honest opinion that Olivia Rodrigo headlines next year?
like 30% rough guess. she might not be the number one on their list but I’d imagine theyd like to have her
Why would they have asked her for 2024 if she wasnt high on their list to begin with. Why would they not want to book a local for the fest on top of that. It will draw for sure because its fitting a similar narrative with some artists. They have a big tour thats totally sold out and resale is ridiculous to get into the building. A 3 day ticket will get you probably the same Olivia tour set along with some guests since she has done it on a few shows so far. Good value on that headliner booking
What is the likelihood in your (general your) honest opinion that Olivia Rodrigo headlines next year?
Pretty low. If they wanted to time it better with her latest album it would've been this year and next year feels too far removed from it to properly capitalize on the hype. I'm not expecting her to be a serious contender for a Coachella headlining slot again until LP3.

I hope Olivia headlines, I would be very happy with it, if the posts are to be believed we would be looking at Rufus Du Sol, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, with RTTD being a toss up. I would be very very happy with that trio.

Not sure if I’m missing something or overthinking, but curious why the Tommy Richman show at the Roxy is being labeled “Before the Desert.” I already felt like he was a shoe in but makes it seem even more likely.

wow, yeah thats about as obvious of a hint as anything. prob an end of second line act

I feel like third somewhere is more likely. I know he's got the one huge hit, but it feels a bit like Tems to me, where everyone here seemed to think she'd be 2nd line and wound up mid-3rd. Ice Spice getting that top billing and then struggling to sell out small venues after also feels a bit like a warning sign against overbilling an unproven live draw. Roxy feels really small for a guy to end up hitting 2nd line the following year, particularly given it was announced after he blew up, not before.
Dua and Olivia definitely feels like an either-or situation, no way we get both on one lineup. I also think assessing Olivia's current positioning is a bit "glass half-empty/half-full" because 'too late' for the current promo cycle sounds to me like perfect timing for Coachella to launch promo for a mid-2025 album release.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide
Apart from Keinemusik blowing up to becoming a 2nd line name, I can’t think of any other EDM names like a John Summit or Dom Dolla.
Some 3rd line and below names I’d kill to see: Confidence Man, Pretty Girl, VTSS, DJ Heartstring, The Dare, Tripolism, Dixon presents Transmoderna, DJ Gigola, Kelly Lee Owens, WhoMadeWho live, TDJ, Rafael, Jimi Jules
