Not sure if I’m missing something or overthinking, but curious why the Tommy Richman show at the Roxy is being labeled “Before the Desert.” I already felt like he was a shoe in but makes it seem even more likely.
Jamie doing the same visual show just with a new album is just going to be fine with every?
And I think the absence of west coast MA shows helps their case for 2025 👀
lowkey yeah.....
just saw him at pitchfork and it was brilliant. same visual style as coachella 2 years ago, but the set was lit.
visuals dont really add much to a set if the set is already really good lol
I was there too and then after spending half an hour in the photo pit I went and found where the dancers were being filmed. Its always interesting to see how they do it all and 99% of the audience doesnt even realize its semi staged.
And 3 years in a row of Jamie seems lazy anyway. Like extra lazy. Book The Xx and then let him do a surprise Do Lab set. Thats more reasonable.

i would prefer this as well. especially since its super likely he’s gearing up for an NA tour
wow, yeah thats about as obvious of a hint as anything. prob an end of second line act
I feel like third somewhere is more likely. I know he's got the one huge hit, but it feels a bit like Tems to me, where everyone here seemed to think she'd be 2nd line and wound up mid-3rd. Ice Spice getting that top billing and then struggling to sell out small venues after also feels a bit like a warning sign against overbilling an unproven live draw. Roxy feels really small for a guy to end up hitting 2nd line the following year, particularly given it was announced after he blew up, not before.
Yeah, and even Tems had a bigger fan base than Tommy has now (like an actual fan base, not just a fan of a single). Coachella is a long time away, if he doesn't have something to carry his momentum into next year, it could be a very under attended set
Dua and Olivia definitely feels like an either-or situation, no way we get both on one lineup.
Olivia guesting with No Doubt W1 makes me think she has a slight lead and more of a career defining booking. Dua Lipa already did Glastonbury, upcoming ACL nd a fe other big Euro fests on this album cycle.
Both seem tied to Live Nation, but its easier to let Olivia go after all the arena dates.

yeah i get that 100%. idk im just greedy since hes probably my favorite artist of all time. the new single that just came out is absolute fire too. but agreed, give him a closing do lab set
Apart from Keinemusik blowing up to becoming a 2nd line name, I can’t think of any other EDM names like a John Summit or Dom Dolla.
Some 3rd line and below names I’d kill to see: Confidence Man, Pretty Girl, VTSS, DJ Heartstring, The Dare, Tripolism, Dixon presents Transmoderna, DJ Gigola, Kelly Lee Owens, WhoMadeWho live, TDJ, Rafael, Jimi Jules
tove lo/sg lewis partygirl ml buch jessie ware notion nick leon mount kimbie nico jaar schacke palms trax baba stiltz wax blue hawaii ag cook
Ben Bohmer Tinlicker Darkside Bronson Aphex Twin
All slightly (to much) larger names but I'd love any of them to be on the lineup.

i'm obsesssseeedddd with the dare rn. obsessed. actually just logged back on to see if there was any chatter about him
She doesn’t want to be on Main Stage. Could see 3rd on her day, Sahara at night before headliner
Charli played the main stage in 2023.
I think BRAT has blown up to the point that I could see her subbing.
nah he made a good point, there was an interview or clip somewhere of Charli saying she disliked playing main stage because it felt more like she was performing for the stream than the crowd, i just forgot about it

Prob more to do with being on at Golden hour. If she was on at dusk it prob wouldve been a bit different.

no, it was about her team hyping the livestream and feeling pressure about it. Highly doubt she'd say she doesn't want to sub because she doesn't wanna play the main stage again though, the opportunity would be way too big.

would much rather have Charli do a party girl dj set over a normal set. I really feel like she's been killing those sets lately. her Ibiza set was nutss.

Charli XCX is one of my favorite artists but 1) I haven't seen a dancey mainstage crowd in a long time, Idk if playing at night would give her what she's looking for in a main crowd. Though it would be better than her 5pm slot for sure 2) She's honestly not a great live performer. Not bad but not great. And 3) She's not that big to sub, even with Brat in my opinion. Could see 3rd for sure, but if she returns I hope it's in the Sahara. I think it would enhance her set A LOT I was pretty disappointed in her 2023 set, but would still be excited to see her again regardless.
So Chappell arena tour 2025 (or whenever she tours again) is basically confirmed right? With the crowds she is pulling I feel like there is no way she is not in arenas on the next tour.
