I feel like 2nd line "dance" music this year is gonna be Massive Attack Mau P FISHER Kienemusik Polo & Pan Club Heat Four Tet And then probably Louis The Child again lol
It's more that he's just incredibly reliable across the board, so for him to drop Taylor being possible is something genuinely tangible
By hit big I more so meant has a great batting average across years, rather than artist popularity, although I think he's had a couple hits in that regard in past years IIRC

This is the only place I've seen trying to spin these ridiculously expensive RÜFÜS DU SOL tickets as a positive.
All we’re saying is they would have made more sense than Fred
A nice part of watching a headliner is that it’s a good value play since many headliners shows cost $200-500+ for good seats
When a headliner just did like 10 shows in LA in the last year and it was $65 face value, it’s less of a must see
Vs an artist that costs multiple times a ticket
I mean should we be celebrating price gouging? And if those 10 shows equal out or exceed what's the difference? The Coliseum show alone was a showing that even after doing 10 shows in CA there was still immense demand (like 60k tickets in 5 days?).

Any chance we get Ben UFO at Quasar? He's doing a warehouse set in LA end of November.
Wouldn't he make more sense in the Yuma? Not sure he is a big enough draw for Quasar based on who they booked last year.
Ehhh I'm not entirely sure what the criteria for Quasar is. Ben's considered one of the best DJs in the world and I think a Yuma slot would be a waste given he really gets going in 3-5 hour sets, I could see it as one of GV's quirkier picks. Maybe B2B Four Tet? That would push it up into better territory to justify.

I love Ben UFO and would enjoy an extended set but Quasar would be a ghost town if he was the headliner of the night against a bunch of other prime stuff going on at that same time. Ben UFO B2B Four Tet would be great tho and probably limit the amount of dub step Four Tet has been playing recently.

Hessle Audio takeover would be incredible
Would be absolutely major, although if it were to happen and considering Kieran is rumored, the B2B would probably be the more likely booking

Ben UFO is beyond talented enough for the quasar but not big enough with the Coachella crowd. More people turned out for boring ass USA-Instagram ass acts W2 than the acts W1 who are closer to his peers.

Does Quasar even matter that much though in the grand schemes of bookings then (I mean of course it does, but is it that high in the ticket pull priority)? To me it's always seemed more of a transitory stage to stop in for 20 minutes at than stay for 3 hours unless you really like the booking, and a place for more interesting electronic acts who aren't visual heavy, which is why he'd fit in to me at least.
In other news, Rampa is doing a solo show in New York in December and it sold out in minutes - $100-200 tickets
Makes the Rüfüs tickets seem cheap for just a DJ set lol
The Keinemusik obsession is out of control
I don't get it. I've seen tiktoks of sets and it's just a mass of phones and white men playing droning afrohouse that flows into nothingness.. Can someone explain their appeal to me?

have seen them twice - the longer form sets are fun; agreed the tiktoks are brutal (only a couple of songs like Move draw that reaction, but still) and the crowds look like they have gotten worse, but the sets are great vibes imo

My guess is that Quasar line up last year kind of came together last minute, for whatever reason. RÜFÜS, Bibi, and Prydz x Anyma were the big gets, everything else felt slapped together. Four acts at “half price” and the rest.
I do think we will see artists on the main line up that will be on Quasar both weekends. Openers may change. Love or hate em, Keinemusik is probably a second line act that moves tickets and will be on that stage both weekends.
Big draw, pedigree acts (Solomun, A&B, Carl Cox) or rare, unexpected b2b’s are probably the goal bookings. They will probably throw an EDM DJ in there (Kaskade) too.
Do you all think Quasar is always gonna have sets on about at the same times as this year, or could we see some years in the future where it runs even longer? I feel like it could be cool to have some late night counter programming on there sometimes especially if we have years that sell out completely, but I also haven't thought a whole lot about the crowd control or potential soundbleed. and I feel like we've been generally trending towards fewer and fewer options running at the same time against the headliner (though last year kinda bucked this trend)
La was $340 for pit. Charging $100 for lawn is bold though
More than/on par with Oasis is nuts. Saw Rufus here in the pit at Santa Barbara Bowl for like $80 just 2 years ago, capacity 4500. No way they have quadrupled in value in any way.
