Shaboozey played a 15 minute set in the Bud Light Backyard (aka the Sonora) as a last minute add. I walked by a half hour before his set and there was a longer line than anything I have seen at Coachella. He also showed up for Diplo's Saturday night set in the Palomino (aka Mojave)
Watching on iPlayer, and this is aggressively fine. Aside from the Kevin Parker guest spot, this Glastonbury set is just Dua’s touring show, right? I’d hope there is some strong counter programming if she’s on the poster.

I guess strong counter programming is subjective, but I don’t remember the last time they had great options against a headliner. Maybe 2016 or 2018?

I liked having Orbital and Bicep vs the headliners Saturday and Sunday this year. Blackpink played earlier in 2023 on Saturday but you had Underworld playing during an hour of their set.
Looking back at years I’ve been, it seems like Friday is the least likely night to have a good act or any act at all in Mojave or Gobi during the headliner

Yeah. Dua's set is just the tour set with the added Kevin Parker guest. I think you schedule Dua in primetime and not closing the evening so then a Rttd follows and you have the options youre thinking should be there.
2017 was solid with counterprogramming. 2018 the inly legit one was Jamiroquai against The Weeknd.

This take is actually so weak. Please let us know which female pop star would fill in better as a headliner at Coachella .

2017 is what I meant, that’s my bad. 2018 Friday was legit but the other two nights were pretty rough if you didn’t want to see Eminem or Beyoncé. X Japan and Highly Suspect weren’t the greatest of options.

A Perfect Circle was against Eminem and had 50 people which was just crazy. And it was loud af.

Don’t most artists who are touring just play their normal show at Coachella with sometimes a guest added? The only recent one I can think of that didn’t is Blackpink.
You could maybe throw Harry Styles in, but he released a new album a month after Coachella so you’d expect that.

Beyonce didnt do the same thing for On The Run II as Coachella. Doja def had some tweaks to her set this year. Blink played half an hour less than their normal touring set and they did change some songs between weekends. No Doubt also.

Obviously Beyoncé didn’t do the same show as OTR2, that was with Jay-Z. Don’t be obtuse Supre. No Doubt hasn’t done any shows other than Coachella. Blink made the exact same jokes they have for years and just did an abbreviated version of their touring show. Doja did change things slightly, I’ll give you that.

When No Doubt tours next year the show wont be like the ones we got.

Doja debuted an entire new show which led to her European tour. I went to Scarlet Tour and it was nothing like Coachella.
wanted to add points to my hilton garden inn rancho mirage booking but they said the hotel is sold out and id only be able to add them via rebooking which i most likely would lose the room if i tried.
anyone have any recommendations for refundable hotels for the dates of 4/9-4/14? my usual backup of palm mountain is $2k nonrefundable for those dates so thats out of the question rn too.
i know that in 2023 it seemed anyone who booked the hilton rancho mirage one that didnt use points had their reservation cancelled so now im getting a little worried

I’d want a Coldplay reunion show, guaranteed to have more focus on older hits. Otherwise maybe if they were touring a classic album. I mean…I’d probably be there regardless probably, but begrudgingly. Their shift to pop makes me real sad.

You want them to break up and then get back together for Coachella?
