i was also considering doing sunday only before realizing i had a weekend class the same weekend but pls let us know how it goes! sunday is so incredible compared to the other days and i really wish i could experience it. tho maybe a single day wouldnt be the best for my first roo experience
Coming in Sunday is pretty funny, it’s like showing up to a bar at 1:30am sober
Yes but someone was playing $50 worth of RHCP on TouchTunes so solid move on my part
Apropos as I Could Have Lied from this past Friday in Albequerque just popped up on YouTube. It’s a good song off BSSM but for part of that day’s encore it wasn’t very good. Also Anthony should probably keep his shirt on. So I looked at the setlist and mostly hate it. Wasteland from Batiste/Sean Paul until Parcels or possibly later that Saturday (early Sunday). I was looking forward to seeing you, and I’ll be usual outside front left for Yves which is the only non-hl show we have in common. Come find me. I don’t expect to see anyone at Fred. but I’ll be there too at your recommendation.

So I saw Mdou Moctar last night in order to not have to see them so early at Roo… holy shit what a show. They just ripped it the whole time, I’ve never seen a better guitar player, never seen someone pound the drums THAT hard and the bass was thumping. Honestly if there isn’t a giant circle pit during their set it will be a big disappointment. I will be braving the heat on Saturday to see them again no doubt.

The Garden is the answer to your Saturday woes
Damn. I got a phone call and the 2 paragraphs got wiped. Anyway I spent a bunch of time last week watching recent live stuff and videos and wanted to like them more than I did. I enjoyed some of the music and some of the antics but overall it was mild. I’d be there if I was in Centeroo. I’d probably see Cage again otherwise but that’s it. Other people have different tastes and may be excited for Red Hots, Melanie, Knock2, Allison’s side project or Cigarettes but I’m having difficulty with that block of time. I don’t even like Diplo all that much, but maybe he’s an okay warmup. I didn’t like Idles last year so it’s one of those random festival nights that holds almost no appeal for me during the evening. PL will be great and I’m holding out hope for Parcels in person. But otherwise it’s not curated for me.

any interest in the Mars Volta?
Yeah. That’s Friday late so I’m planning to be at most of that. I’ve never seen them so I’m hopeful. I’ve seen Thundercat a couple times. One was very good one was eh. I’ve also seen T-Pain who I liked the rap much more than the R&B stuff.

Passed a few cars on my way to work that were obviously headed to the farm. Fomo started to hit. Haven't made it down since 2019. Hoping I can make number 8 happen next year. Hope ya'll have the best time.

Working Tuesday and Wednesday the week of Bonnaroo is always so lame... Just gonna sit here in the office while people are starting their awesome trips.

Ugh same. Like I need it to be Wednesday at 4 asap.

You're going to need a little more dedication than that.

idk how this has happened but I think I'm finally at a point where I am most excited for Saturday. Going to be non-stop dancing at Sean Paul > Kasablanca > Knock 2 > Parcels, it's goes til sunrise, some moshing between idles and superjam, love Brittany Howards new album. Getting all fired up.

Something I haven't mentioned yet:
The addition of the Silent Disco at the Who really enhances an otherwise weakish late night for me this year. The nature of Silent Disco's makes them amazing friend bonding experiences, great opportunities to dance with strangers, and a nice break from packed stages and loud speakers.

I'll definitely be checking it out for the first time. In 16+ years doing festivals, never have I taken time for Silent Disco.

The best silent disco in the world (that I've been to) is at electric forest. But Roo's is really good too.
