I'm not complaining about pedicabs. They saved my ass on multiple occasions, though they aren't cheap. I don't ever fuck with lines or jamtrack so it's foot or bike cab. I will admit to wondering multiple times how more people don't get run over because motherfuckers half the time are paying no attention while walking.
cincibuttermilknnasti that was awesome. I was mostly over the blues and lack of stimulation, but you brought me back to the festival. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your review, and you know I love you too man.
Do people really still drink buttermilk? My dad was the only person I ever knew who drank that shit hot and cold. He loved it but I'm guessing as a child of the 1930's and 1940's, people used to pour them cups of it for enjoyment. It tastes so thick and bad to me that I won't drink it. I'm not mad if it's used for pancakes or waffles or to soak or wet fried chicken for the dredge or biscuits. But I can't imagine many people drink it for enjoyment. Even if someone was going to drink heavy cream which would be pretty disgusting to chug, it kind of tastes okay whereas buttermilk tastes like buttermilk.

I'd write a long, detailed recap but fuck y'all, that'll stay in my brain instead. The DJ set was a wonderful kick-off to everything, I drank 4 bevvies which was it for alcohol for me basically all week lol everything was fun as fuck, it was nice meeting/seeing again cinci, teddy, esteban, zac, snowman, arch, ambassador, manders, cum, tranter, jortles, and at least 5 or 6 others who are slipping my mind right now. Watched TMV rip it up with everyone, got a killer spot with manders and zac for the PL sunrise, 8.5/10 Roo for me, best one yet. That RV ruined me for tent camping though, fuck that, I'm an AC queen forever now.

I have used it for specific recipes, but I've never drank that shit.

i feel like a cup of that would have a weeks worth of saturated fat

I'll occasionally have a tiny little bit if I'm using it for cooking, brings back foggy memories of grandparents/great grandparents lol

this is such a good idea, i'm going to try this tonight when i get home. i already have all the ingredients.
Please report back.
unfortunately i couldn't get the full experience. i had oreos, i had butter, but when i got home i found my "wife" had drank up all the buttermilk. trust me we got in a huge fight about it. if i had a pint of buttermilk for every time i come home and my wife had drank all the buttermilk, it wouldn't matter because she would've drank that pint of buttermilk too! it's a big problem with our marriage. the oreos with filling pulled out and replaced with butter was really really good but without that glass of buttermilk i feel like it was missing the "rizz".

It sounds like you need an alternate source of buttermilk on the side. My buttermilk guy is very discreet if you’re interested.

y'all ever live in the same city as a guy you think you're friends with but he's been hiding that he has a buttermilk guy

lets connect on Telegram, i need to hide this from my wife.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Bleary-Eyed Bonnawook Goblin Faced Love God
I'm getting a plug-in cooler and bringing a generator next year. Just stuffed full of butter and buttermilk. If I can get it all through security Imma have a lucrative side hustle slanging that fresh churned.
Don't worry, I'll keep a personal stash for posty and nasti at brunch. We'll gorge.

I’m sorry to keep you in the dark, but I just can’t stress enough how important discretion is once you find a good, reliable (albeit with questionable ethics) buttermilk guy.

its been a couple of weeks and i've been dragging my feet on a recap so i'm going ahead and banging one out. still a good year and a lot of fun!!! everyone has already pointed out that the subreddit was overly negative but i didn't have many complaints. i still think it's really fucking weird that there were like no handwashing stations outside of the portapotties and no soap in the times i went into the permanent bathroom. then it sounds like a lot of people got sick when they returned home. i was and a couple people in our group were but we were all bad congested and i think we just breathed in a lot of dust and dirt for 5 days straight.
chappell was the hottest show i had ever been to and i like her music and it made me feel happy to see her doing so well. but the craziest thing that has ever happened in my life happened at this show. y'all, i'm ride or die for kacey musgraves. i saw her at the which stage at noon in 2013 and have seen her up close at all of her bonnaroo shows since. golden hour is my favorite album of all time and i have a close bond with my wife and many friends over that album. i traveled to the ryman to catch her on that tour. we were lucky enough to just barely get into the chappell pit. we got in line a little bit after the act before her had started and the line was long but i've rarely been turned away from a pit at bonnaroo so we tried it and probably 30 people behind us got in then they closed it out. i'd seen on instagram that morning that kacey musgraves was in the cage the elephant pit (i was also in there) and thought that was cool. right when the show had started a posse had walked into the pit and stood in an open area behind us in the back right in the pit and my wife looked over at them then her eyes got wide and she nudged me and went "that's her!" i looked over at her once and just thought well there's a lot of people that look like other people, then i took a second to get a good look and it was definitely her. let's just say that during the show i took about 10 seconds to step her way to offer her something for the show and she turned it down but gave me an thumbs up of approval. she was unbothered for the rest of the show too so good for her. then she was posting ig stories from the pit and my sunburnt back was center of the frame on one of them. it was a minuscule interaction but just really wild to me because she is one of my idols.
but other than that i did think chappell had the best set of the weekend. seeing so many people dance and be excited for someone at 3pm on a hot as hell day with no shade was special to me. she's certainly going to be on the what stage in a few years.
i thought geese brought the house down on thursday night. the set opened with their drummed using a headband to secure a pair a headphones to his head so i knew that it was about to get real. they also had the funniest visuals i've seen at a show. they kept showing compilation videos within their bands logo. like one of them showed people getting beat up inside of cars, then another one showed dogs surfing, and one person with me said they were distracted when one was a black and white instructional video on how to do trick shots in pool. musically they were awesome too. just heavy and groovin. their frontman was really cool too. he stood about a foot taller than the mic stand and wore a "Taylor Swift for President" shirt. i was tempted to see their outeroo show at 3am but i was shot.
as for other thursday night acts i thought gwar was a lot of fun and it was cool seeing cincinnasti. their blood could only reach maybe the first ten rows at this tent so lmao but it was still a fun pit and people crushed forward to feel the blood so that's cool. eggy did a pleasant 45 minutes. they had a dark sounding jam in the middle of it that i liked and i'd love to catch them at one of their proper shows.
i tried finding the site for brunch but wandered while carrying stuff for a while and gave up. i wish i'd have found it though because i was the person in our group that wanted to stay up the whole night and go fairly hard and no one else really had that spirit like i did that i was with. i wish i could've hung with some message board pals that i knew could've gone at my pace. but i'll try not to make that mistake again.
mdou moctar had a very good friday afternoon set that the whole crowd was embracing. mike. was terrible and he mainly played other music and brought some guy from new zealand on stage to rap one of his songs because he had a sign that said he flew to tennessee to see him. we got close for grouplove and they are always fun. after tongue tied they covered space oddity and song 2 so that got the crowd really hyped up. key glock was a fun enough rap show from what i saw. a pretty generic rap show to me but the crowd seemed into it.
joe russo's almost dead was my most anticipated set going into the festival and they were awesome. i really liked their minglewood blues and shakedown street is always a crowd pleaser. russo and dreiwitz hold it the fuck down on the rhythm section then the guitars and keys did some improvisational magic. i also really liked tom hamilton's twangy guitar tone in particular. but like everyone knows, they should've been late night. but i'll still take 90 minutes at sundown.
afterwards my pals opted to go back to camp and i decided i was going to stay but after laying under a tree by this tent for about 20 minutes i decided i was too tired to even enjoy the mars volta. big mistake there but i'm not torn up. i'm happy for everyone else on here who went it sounded like it was amazing.
we got into centeroo on saturday in time for ethel cain but like everyone has also said, the sound was pretty bad. otherwise it was a pretty good show. teezo touchdown followed her and i thought he was fun and had good showmanship. we caught jon batiste before pitting for cage the elephant and he was good but hokey as hell to me. he covered "if you're happy and you know it," "when the saints come marching in," and "you are my sunshine." it was very elementary school music teacher to me but he was very positive and the things he was doing with a sampler were cool. i'm trying not to be a hater because the talent and vibe were definitely there.
cage the elephant is always a fun time. matt didn't crowdsurf and i'm wondering if he got tired of it or if it's in his live nation contract that he can't do that anymore. their catalog is impressive for a rock band formed within the last 20 years. more singalong anthems than i remember them having and that was the fourth time i'd seen them.
rhcp was the flea and john jam show so that was cool. but damn anthony is so annoying. he kept just walking off the stage randomly as if he isn't the fucking frontman for this band and only has 90 minutes to play. the under the bridge into give it away encore was cool since john's in the mix now and they didn't do under the bridge at bonnaroo last time. and with rhcp you can watch flea the whole time and be entertained. i'm pretty sure flea flatfoot jumped onto the top of his amps for the encore, we're not sure how he got all the way up there.
i was pretty shot after standing for a couple shows in the what pit so i got dinner and sat outside of this tent for parcels. i didn't actually see the band the whole time but i thought it sounded really good and was a pleasant wind down set after a busy day.
sunday started with getting into inforoo for chappell and i've already talked about that. but after that we went to the carly rae pit and i'm just glad i got to see run away with me in the pit so i was whelmed even with the rain delay.
i posted up for taking back sunday and was really excited for them and it was ok. they're touring behind a new album and opened with a new song and they would play a couple hits then put in a new song then do the same thing and i thought the energy was off. but the mosh was fun and the band closing with cut from the team and makedamnsure was a party. people were crowdsurfing the whole time during those two and i was helping people up.
i caught about 20 minutes of fred again and was really impressed with what i saw. i thought his stage setup was neat and the music was more engaging to me than what would play at the average edm set. my pal was ready to go to camp so we bailed pretty early but i definitely emerged a fred fan.
bonnaroo was fun. i hope the two guys that book bonnaroo bring in sexyy red and charli xcx next year.
