Sure I made a lot of mistakes, def wasn't sure how to plan out Thursday!
beat me to it by a couple hours! I’ll start up the Mock Schedule thread here in a bit
Thursday: Militarie Gun > Roisin Murphy > Nation of Language > Pretty Lights first Half > BigxThaPlug > Gwar
NOTE - You are missing Geese here. This would be really horrible scheduling for me and I also think there are some things that are pretty unlikely like say she she vs roisin murphy and eggy vs pretty lights.
Friday: Mdou Moctar > Faye Webster > The Mars Volta > end of Shy FX > Interpol > Post Malone > Thundercat > End of Khraungbin > end of JRAD > Pretty Lights sunrise
NOTE - Thinking about it now, I wonder if they put JRAD on during Post Malone to avoid the Khraungbin conflict and what not.
Saturday: Idles > end of MIKE > end of Teezo Touchdown > Ethel Cain > Kasablanca > RHCP > Parcels > BBNG
NOTE - MIKE / Idles conflict is super annoying. Would also be surprised if MIKE and Teezo conflicted but maybe they are different enough. Late night set up here is awesome.
Sunday: Chappel Roan > Irreversible Entanglements > Veggi > Armand Hammer > Yves Tumor > Four Tet > Carly Rae Jepsen > Fred Again..

Thanks for catching Geese.
I agree about Eggy, just not sure how to do it, I switched them with Durand Bernarr for now.
If JRAD isn't late night, who do you think would be? Mars Volta?
I feel like there is no real incentive to upgrade it right now.
I don't either but if those name or similar showed up on the lineup as a late add it would sell out easy.
Shocked to see how many of my friends want to go just for the Pretty Lights sunrise set. Looks like I'll be on the farm again for the first time since 19 lol.
actually wasn't JRAD late night in 2019? if so they probably wouldn't give them another late night slot right?
I was thinking this, but can you see them only getting one 75 minute set? I can't, so I figure they have to be late night?
they got an hour 45 minute set at Mempho and played 8 songs lol. It was rippin'. I'll be really disappointed if they get stuck with a 60-75 minute set.

With all due respect to them, I like them both, not exactly the kind of artists that are going to make an easy sell out lol.

I regret to inform everyone I have no idea how to make a thread with that many bells and whistles and should not be entrusted with such responsibility. Anybody else got me?

I mean no I'm not saying them along would sell it out but it would definitely move more tickets than whatever additions LiveNation probably has planned

Last year was my first Roo, only really lurked during the headliner thread this year. Really enjoy this lineup, less must sees this year but a ton I want to do, the clash finder mock has shown me there are full ass days of things I want to see. 95 percent sure I’ll be back this year
Question since your from Ohio do you do Secret Dreams? Haven't gotten around to going but all my friends have.
Birdie told me Pretty Lights and The Biscuits are two of the headliners so I'm highly considering it if that's the case.
Lineup wise it's usually a bit too heady/wookie for my tastes, but I've almost gone a few times bc I like doing 1 solo fest per year, preferably camping, and it's a good option bc of proximity and price.

the mars volta late night is a great idea. great for fans, great for me who against all odds doesn't care for the mars volta and could use one less late night conflict.
How are we feeling about this after sleeping on it?
-fred again: i was a lot more excited about fred again when i thought it would be a DJ set and not a "live" set or whatever you call he does now. it might still be super cool but i haven't been particularly jazzed by the cell phone videos of his shows i've seen on youtube. feels less dancey and more quiet/contemplative which isn't really what i'm looking for in a mainstage set.
i understand this sentiment completely. i first saw Fred in '22 W2 of Coachella and the tent was so packed bc of the word of mouth from W1 and the crowd around me sucked so it really painted it in a negative light for me for a long time. i had a second chance with Fred later that year and that show hit so hard. he was the opener and everyone felt like it was a headlining set when it ended. the buildups are emotional and slow so i get that, but the payoff is huge imo. i see a lot of complaints about him playing on a Sun night but tbh i think he'll be able to handle it well and it's a great fit to close out the weekend. if you go in expecting Boiler Room or the b2b2b in the round you'll prob be disappointed, but i think an emotional contemplative i'm still gonna dance my ass off is gonna pay off. just my 2c from a reformed "wow i don't really get the hype" to "he's hype" fan. (i think someone else already mentioned the crowd matters- which for me, i think to be entirely true).

Nice to hear bc I respect/share a lot of your electronic taste and am pretty firmly in the "eh what's the hype" camp at the moment
Not sure your feelings on Fred, but he is Brian Eno's protege, so I think that speaks to his musicality and talent alone. He plays piano during his set and his drumpad jams are pretty incredible.
So this is unknown for me. I wasn't enamored with the Coachella broadcast show last year. But that was a b2b2b and probably a lot different. Eno is a fucking hero. I loved his shit with Roxy Music. I loved the Fripp & Eno ambient albums. I loved everything accessible from Here Come the Warm Jets and Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy to the bizarre shit like Another Green World or Music for Elevators vol. x. I also love his production work (along with Lanois) on the best 2 U2 albums - Unforgettable Fire and Joshua Tree.
So I'm optimistic that he's not going to do a lot of pop house despite the crowd though as a headliner in that setting, I can't bet on it. FWIW, I do have some hope for that set where I have zero for Post Malone or RHCP's
I've seen him twice, neither show were anything like the Coachella show, but I also think the 3 of them we're just messing around more than anything for that Coachella show, since they weren't billed originally.
Fred and Eno put an ambient album out last year too, called Secret Life
I think the biggest thing I've gotten from him in his shows are the sense of emotion, and it doesn't feel as pandery as like an Illenium or Seven Lions in the EDM realm. I think it comes from his usage of samples which are a lot of vocals pulled from Instagram vids.
With all due respect to them, I like them both, not exactly the kind of artists that are going to make an easy sell out lol.

Okay thats fair. I agree since there isn't much outside of PL to get that demo there.
Also, go to Secret Dreams! Went the inaugural year and it was a great time. I only knew a couple of the artists going in and there was a huge rainstorm, but was still great. PL in the woods stage there would be incredible although it would be an absolute shiz show.

since we are always looking for the youth opinion, young staff at work says there are many acts on the lineup he loves, including Lizzy McAlpine, grouplove, gregory alan isakov, sean paul, milky chance, and jake wesley rogers. he said it's a really good lineup.
