love how hard she's leaning into the theatrics/camp of it all. honestly might be my #1.
I'm literally speechless. I get that there is a draw for pop fans and drag fans (though I think they were born a woman and it's an identity character). She has a nice voice, and some of her band seems to have talent. But there wasn't anything musical that caught my attention. Y'all should dress up for this set, but I'm not going to be there. Guessing she could lead the pride parade which might make sense.
because i'm a 35 year old lesbian who grew up listening to pop in a heteronormative world. it's awesome to see and hear music like this in the mainstream, esp when you listen to her lyrics. there haven't been that many overt artists like this in the mainstream until the last few years. it's amazing to see and moves me, which is what music is about. and she takes her unseriousness seriously which rules, which to me this tiny desk shows, as cincy pointed out this is an alternate version of her sparkle pop.
something something don't yuck other people's yum.

That's fine (always thought you were a guy with the play on Harry Stiles). I have admired and listened to many lesbians since I was a kid. But I also realize that's also not the mainstream nor everyone else's experiences. It's not really even a thing for me since I don't usually care who anyone else sleeps with or why. But me actually getting the irony that it's serious but unserious is asking a lot if all I have to go by is what I watched. Though I said I was speechless (didn't know it was even ironic until someone else mentioned it after), I didn't put it in my "would have a bad time" at and also gave her a nod in that very post for a quality voice and for decent musicianship in that band. I'll say it again like I've said a million other times. I haven't listened to mainstream pop or liked it since I was in like 6th or 7th grade. That's a long ass time ago, and I'm not looking musically back to popular music or most derivatives. I appreciate your perspective, but that post wasn't an attempt to trash anyone else or step on their toes. It was based around watching that performance albeit blind to what it was.

These are basically alternate versions of her sparkle soaked dance pop songs. It's not for everyone, but it is immensely fun. Seeing her for the second time tonight and my 'fit is absurd

you guys think the Sunday night WITW headliner could be Willie Nelson or Bob Dylan? Their second leg starts in Atlanta on the 21st and they don't have a TN date

Since it’s a slow news week I’ll share a story from my first Roo.
I get there Wednesday and I’m wandering the campgrounds, getting the lay of the land and feeling out the vibe. As I’m walking through the campgrounds I look at all the flags and there’s a campsite proudly flying the North Korean flag. I thought, that is a strange choice but whatever, I’m not gonna say anything, radiate positivity and all that. A few hours later I see another one and I’m thinking ok this is super weird. Maybe it’s some organization, maybe it’s an inside joke, maybe these people are socialists and have a horrible way of displaying it, maybe it’s just a wild coincidence. I ignore it and go on about my business. Throughout the weekend I see another, and another, and so many that I’m like this is fucked, I need to know what the hell is going on here. So finally I google it and it turns out the whole time I’d been seeing the flag of Tennessee (and in my defense, they’re both red with stars in a circle and a thin white line next to a thick blue line along the edge). So that’s the story of how I learned about Tennessee’s flag

Last year I did a DJ set at camp on Wednesday night, and baby we're running it back! Would there be any interest in making it a semi-official inforoo meetup/kickoff party? Like brunch but at night
Just relooked at the 2022 schedule and I would have had a blast going chvrches > billy strings > Tool > late night. Friday late night was stacked too.
Seems like I missed a good one that year.
Word. That was a good day and was what I saw (Billy set ended up being my top 1 of the year). I went to Rebilliet and Pigeons late. Femi Kuti was earlier and that was great too. Otherwise I went to Slowthai and the Superjam. That was okay in parts but it was way late and taking up valuable time.

Wow if Posty joins the peppas the set will be good. Maybe since JOhn FRusciante is back I haven't seen them with john frusicante so i'm looking forward to it.

Love this. “Yeah I’ll check it out if nothing better is going on.”

For anyone who wasn't there, the Teddy Flair set on Wednesday last year was a core inforoo experience. Brunch is great, but it was better than brunch. Teddy modestly asking if there would be interest is laughable. It's like 30 of us dancing around tipsy together during those nearly undefinable, first hours of Bonnaroo.
If you consider yourself a member of this community and are on the farm at the time of the Teddy Flair DJ set, you are there. If you aren't, you might as well pack your shit back up and go home.
