Roseman really is way ahead of teh rest of the GMs. Hurts is now the 8th highest paid QB
It's really amazing some of these deals and shows how QB focused the league is right now. Highest paid QB in history is a guy with 39 career passing TDs (4 rushing). He's got potential, but you would think he would have to have more than one successful year before they put him at #1.
This generation of QBs (Hurts included) are all really overrated outside of a few. Bcuz of that teams are choosing to pay their guy's after any bit of success or strong enough stats to sell the fans on. Its actually laughable to see what Jordon Love got and Ive been a fan of his since Utah St. Tua isnt as crazy but hes always gonna be a concussion away form losing his career.

And then you look below and Mahomes is 12 now. If kc's front office just gave him a regular 5 year deal they wouldve been screwed and he prob has to get $75 mil a year.

wondering if we were just spoiled by the last gen. brady, manning, rodgers, brees and roethlisberger being sure fire HOFers. then you had rivers, matt ryan and eli in that next tier who were all really good. mahomes is the only HOF lock this gen right now.

Something to remember is that the current generation is way younger than they feel like they are. Right now, a large portion of them are all under 30. Of the top ten passing yards leaders for the last season, only one is above 30 (Prescott), and he's only 31. They all got years left in the careers, so who knows what they can do by the end?
Tua Tagovailoa 26 Jared Goff 29 Dak Prescott 31 Josh Allen 28 Brock Purdy 24 Patrick Mahomes 28 Jordan Love 25 CJ Stroud 22 Baker Mayfield 29 Trevor Lawrence 24
But, these guys are in college anywhere from 4-6 years. How much more room for development is there really?
Hurts wasn't in the top 10 for passing yards (14th in case you were curious), but he's another good example. I constantly forget he is 25. Feels older for sure.
On your other point, I wasn't commenting on their level of skill but rather on having the time to build a HoF resume. You would think it should take more than 4-6 years, so comparing these QBs to guys who over twice as long at least to build their HoF resume isn't really fair. Love, as previously mentioned, has had one full year of starting. You do bring up a different point as to that many of these guys are just entering their prime, so one could assume QB play in the next few years is getting ready to be nasty with none of those top 10 guys being near an age where you would expect retirement or a significant decline in their skills.
not that a decline is expected but none of these guys are as good as some would want you to believe. I think its Mahomes and then a decent gap. Burrow would be close had he never got hurt though.
(Hurts was ~150 yards outside of the top 10 in passing yards but def had a down year with the turnovers and OC issues. This season will tell me everything I need to know about him.)

The only thing that matters for those QBs' HOF chances is winning Super Bowls. Mahomes existing is going to make that hard. Josh Allen sticks out to me on that list, but is he ever gonna win a Super Bowl?

You can always get better. As noted with Hurts, he can keep getting better as a passer. He had the turnover issue this past season but his completion percentage was moving in the correct direction every year and that shows progress. I think with Saquon in there its gonna be a nightmare for defenses cause you have to stop one or the other. Already some interesting plays in camp with using both of them as window dressing and getting a lot of yardage.
Mahomes figured out to stop playing hero ball and let everyone else help win games instead of him just slinging it 50 yards downfield. If he played like that 2 sb's ago when Philly was up by 17 they def wouldve lost cause he prob has a pick in there and the game decided was one turnover td.
Like Dak showed how good he can be and how efficient things can be run with just Mccarthy running the show. But Dallas always finds a way to fuck up.
Tua looked like he was gonna be a sorta bust til he got the right coaching.
Purdy has to show he can do it all without having some of the best personnel anyone can ask for. Like if he gets $60 mil next season and they lose Deebo and Ayuik along with Kittle on the downturn of his prime and he is cheeks then he might end up being the next Marc Bulger.
Sky is the limit for Stroud. If they stay healthy then they will make noise.
Lamar can still do Lamar things and the Ravens need to stop being cute.

Allen always reminds me of Favre. He's gonna throw some touchdowns, but he's gonna throw some picks too.

Oh yeah. Mahomes is definitely the best quality quarterback in the pack. The next couple years will show who is actually good. Like you are saying with Hurts, you can only hide behind having a bad OC or line or receivers or whatever for so long. As mentioned by somebody else, there's always the injury wild card too. Everyone is susceptible to it even Mahomes. The wrong injury and his career can either be done or he comes back a shadow of himself.
Lamar Jackson is a lock to make the HOF imo, 2 MVPs is hard to ignore
I mean Marino won a single Mvp and had a super bowl appearance. He got in with the numbers. Lets say Lamar got to an Sb and lost it, if he just produces itll likely be enough cause of his rushing.
Lamar isnt that good of a QB, that much is obvious at this point. Even that firs MVP was mostly carried by lighting up bad teams. The 2nd mvp came bcuz no one was that good and it became about winning. It was only his til a few others blew it late.
