Yes and Jalen got 250/5. Just because yall spread it out over seasons he's not even playing doesn't mean you're ultimately paying him less than those guys or contradict anything I said.
Baker beat yall in the playoffs two months ago lol.
And Dak has Jerry hostage for $60 million, but thats fine cause being eliminated in the divisional is considered a success in Valley Ranch. At least the Eagles front office is doing shit right now. Whats that? Cutting Gallup and Vander Esch today? No new signings? No deal extensions on Lamb or Parsons to create cap room and have an offseason? Good times.
a timeline of the steelers offense decisions since Ben retired:
1. Canada was retained as OC after serving during ben's last year. he had never coached in the nfl before that. 2. sign mitch trubisky in free agency in 2022 3. draft kenny like six weeks later as a first rounder 4. start mitch 5. replace mitch in the 4th game with kenny 6. keep canada after 2022 7. fire canada midway through 2023 8. go from mitch to mason 9. ditch mason in the offseason, not even offering a contract 10. tell kenny he'll be in the qb competition 11. tell russ he'll be the starter so he signs with them 12. trades a first rounder for a late third round pick swap
they have no idea what they are doing
parts 9-12 all seem like good moves though. Pickett was awful and apparently kind of a baby about not being the starter even though he was awful
There were plenty of reasons to doubt Kenny. But they also did nothing to help him.
He was told he'd be in competition for the job. Found out on Twitter they were signing Russ. Found out from Tomlin that Russ was the starter, after being told he'd be in the competition.
Did the Steelers not know Russ was going to be cut? Because everyone knew.
Kenny was lied to and was pissed off about it. That's plenty reasonable to me.

yeah but there was no guarantee they'd get russ, and the reports seem to suggest his problems with not being starter go back to last year.
he was objectively bad, from an organizational standpoint it was absolutely the right move to pivot to Mitch/Mason while trying to make the playoffs and try to upgrade this off-season.
just feel like Steelers fans should be happy that they did upgrade and got anything back for him. the initial pick wasn't great but it was worth a shot because late first if he hits it's franchise changing if not it's not like they gave up a lot of capital to move up.

trying to be kind and patient in my reply ..
Again, Kenny may or may not be good. Plenty of signs that point to him being bad. Firing his OC mid season when everyone knew he should have been fired after 2022 is malpractice. This was a clinic on how not to set your first round QB up for success.
An organization in 2024 think Russ Wilson is the answer. I just didn't think any team could be that stupid, much less the team I root for.
Russ for the minimum is different than Russ for 39mil but idk feel like you have to be taking crazy pills to think you'd rather have Pickett over Russ on the min. he had more tds with football terrorist Hackett than Pickett has had in 2 years.
him being a 1st rnd pick in general had more to do with that QB class than anything, and he probably shouldn't have been but it would be a huge waste of Watts prime to not move on when a good opportunity presents itself.

was definitely in favor of Russ on the minimum. What I didn't like was telling Kenny there'd be a competition, then signing Russ and telling Kenny Russ would be the starter. I think Kenny has every right to feel like he was lied to and needs a new environment.
I just want them to put the QB room in the best shape possible. I don't think they know how.
They thought somebody was gonna be stupid enough to give them a 2nd and had to settle for a conditional. Tomlin liked Fields in the draft so this works. I wont be shocked when Russ is benched after Week 10 and fields goes the rest but wont get to the 51% of play time.
Well considering 4 hours before the story hit the news, someone on Reddit claimed Rice was street racing and wrecked his corvette and into a lambo and fled the scene…
