GA ticket purchased. I'm afraid I have no idea what I'm getting myself into but I've heard from multiple reputable sources this is their favorite fest in America.

honestly there isn't much to know, just show up at hart plaza and have an awesome time! it's an easy fest to navigate, the sound is generally great (the sound at the underground stage is fucked but it feels appropriate), the crowd is the best.
couple tips though:
1. bring earplugs. when i say the sound is good at some stages it can truly be incredibly loud. unless things have changed at the underground stage earplugs are truly mandatory. pyramid as well for some sets, at hawtin last time i was there the sound was absolutely pummelling. felt like i got my ass kicked after that set in a good way.
2. i prefer to treat the festival more like a party, wandering between sets and going where the sound takes me, as opposed to saying "i must catch all of this set, then i will catch all of this set". i mean some sets you'll catch all of for sure but let your feet take you where they will.

I'm really glad I asked my partner for good earplugs for Christmas 2023. They're most certainly coming with.
And treating it more like a party won't be hard... I truthfully do not know many of the names on the lineup and I'm mostly going to move with the flow of the group I'm going with. If they say a set is going to be good, I'll go. Honestly it will be a good change of pace from Coachella where I'm timing out every hour of my day and scheduling bathroom breaks.

Officially in for this, first time since COVID I'm so excited. My friends got tickets for No Way Back and it sold out, what else is good that night if I can't get a ticket to join them? Me and one of my friends are probably going to do Wall of Sound too, think I need to limit my afters to two this year.

I would suggest Observe Scene @ Leland City Club. Lineup tba but it's their 20th Anniversary; no doubt it'll be top notch.

ra.co/events/1879497 Texture party dropped, stacked as always. Same night as Wall Of Sound, so painful. If Bert's allows re-entry I'll definitely party hop

I've confirmed that Wall Of Sound has no re-entry, bummer. I should probably just send it to that Parameter party in SF
