I am reluctant to entertain potentially fake scoops, but Neil Young fits that criteria. Not sure what the health issues are in the band and I know his current tour is Livenation, but still.

That being said, I hope we get a Queens of the Stone Age album play, either Songs for the Deaf, Rated R, or Like Clockwork…. No reason to expect that but it would be really nice. My crazy fantasy booking on the other hand is a Massive Attack set.

I considered it but A) he’s not touring in October that I could find and one of the “hints” was specifically “this artist has a show that would require a flight to DD” and B) he technically was active in 66 but the “hint” was that “this act was famous before 67” and idk if I would qualify that as right just bc the first hit he worked on didn’t get big till year of 67 from what I read. And even then that was as part of Buffalo Springfield, hadn’t yet hit even his first solo record yet until a few years later. But I could be wrong on that.

Yeah you’re right on the Buffalo Springfield thing. He was very adamant it was not the Stones bc he hates the Stones and would’ve leaked it anyways bc he hates them that much, which is admittedly very funny to me. Also not touring in October. I am sure this “leak” is bullshit as per usual.

Clearly trying to hint at Macca, but I don’t see how it’s possible to go from too broke to have a festival in 2023 to booking one of the most expensive artists on earth in 2024.

Feeling like the Pepe Silvia meme right now, but notice how the three recent photo posts from previous DDs are all zooming out? First one in the water, second by the water, third one heading in that direction….what’s next, in the crowd? on the stage?
Neil Young would make the most sense and would be absolutely ELITE. Would totally make up for the austin show getting cancelled while I was there as well as the rescheduled date getting cancelled. I'd lock in for daze without a doubt.
Could also be a reason for a delay since someone, either neil or one of the members of crazy horse is having health problems. But I gotta say...it would be insane if they don't drop today after saying "desert daze kickoff week". I Dream of being back at the lake every day.

Was just talking with some pals about how weird booking is for Neil Young. Headliner some days, outdoor amphitheater spot others, etc. I'd enjoy him more than the other possible suggestions, assuming Iggy doesn't fit the criteria.
