Sublime are one of the worst bands of all time, I don't know what y'all were expecting. Still a shit sandwich with Rome or without him.
Sublime is fantastic. They're pure nostalgia for me, but I also genuinely enjoy their music. I'm not so into their ska stuff, but their reggae down tempo shit is my vibe
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
I was a massive Sublime fan in grades 8-11. This makes me happy simple due to nostalgia
yea, maybe that's what it is. but i dont see the level of hate the board is giving them right now. i think they sound fine. it's sublime. this is what i expect.
i also have a high level of nostalgia and sentimentality tied to this band tho. so i could just be blinded by that. idk. but they're delivering what i wanted. i just wish jakob would stop the excessive growling

Nostalgia act for me too, I’m enjoying it well enough. I’m pretty sure they played sloppy with Bradley too, so this is authentic.
But I’m enjoying everything I’m switching between more 🤷♂️

I’m just now tuning in as they’re playing Date Rape, and I think they sound pretty good. The kid definitely gives off more of the sort of energy/vibe I’d expect out of a Sublime vocalist than Rome.

agreed on the energy. but i think Rome sounded more like Bradley.
But I think that could also just be bc rome kept the songs closer to how they sounded on record, whereas Jakob is trying to make it his own
Sublime nostalgia would be valued higher if they hadn't been running the Rome gravy train for the last 15 years.
If the bar is now playing songs people love with at least some of the original musicians they should have booked Queen + Adam Lambert as a headliner. No cap - it would have slayed.

This is the entire original band tho and now they have Bradley's son as the lead vocalist. Idk how much more authentic it could be without Bradley himself.
