Down to cutting good stuff, now. Going volleyball, here. I like it, it’s fun, but it’s not something most people care about following even the once every four years they care about track and field.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

In defense of volleyball, it's a lot of fun to play with your homies on a beach vacay or anywhere there's a sand court. Also the anime Haikyu!! is one of the very best so just can't vote for it.
Track and swimming are just racing and all about endurance and strength and stamina and there just isn't really a fun "game" element to it unless you just like being in constant pain and get off on competition or something.

Beach volleyball is a great sport to play with friends. Also grew up watching my sister play year round and it was always fun to watch especially since games often came down to the wire.

Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
Tennis is definitely not a better sport than anything that has more votes.
Tennis is more interesting than runnin’ real fast.
Real fast would be 100 or 200 meters. Those are two of maybe 40 events. High jump, hurdles, pole vault, javelin, long and triple jumps, hammer throw - literally any of these events is more exciting than tennis. Love. Fault. I think a lot of y’all enjoy wearing white polyester outfits.

Track and field going before swimming makes no sense.
There are a bunch of wacky events like javelin and pole vault that are infinitely more cool than anything in swimming, and Jesse Owens triggering the Nazis in 1936 was one of the greatest things to happen in any sport.

Running isn't fun or a game though. It's just exercise and punishment to your joints.
"Who can run the fastest?" is something so fun that we do it from the time we're infants. My daughter is 2 and loves racing me down the block.
I loved running. Running long distances to train for the marathon was one of the more meditative things I've ever done. And it's both external (can I be faster than other people?) and internal (can I go faster or farther than I have gone before?).
Just about every sport, and definitely every sport left, is punishment to your joints. All the jumping, diving, and change of direction in volleyball is tough on the knees and ankles. Our stupid joints aren't really equipped to do any of this stuff - it's one reason you know "intelligent design" isn't a real thing.

To be incredibly fair, the issues you are talking about with volleyball are really only felt at a high level. Your average Joe playing Church volleyball doesn't even know how to move their feet to the ball.

I can't speak to how fun it is to play because I never have, but hockey is fun to watch on TV and even better live. It might be my favorite of the remaining sports to go see in person.
