MJ Lenderman's spring tour wraps up in mid-May and then resumes again in mid-June. It could be some well-deserved time off, or it could mean that they're going a few festivals in that window. We'll see.
some UK dates are already announced for May 29 - June 4
Have him play on Friday, the 23rd. That will give him time to fly over to the UK and get adjusted with the jet lag prior to the 29th.

The odd thing is that he's got another east coast swing happening next spring, with return dates to Philly and DC, which he's also playing on the current tour. Boston is the one major northeast city that hasn't had a repeat visit announced for early next year.
Even when artists play Boston, they find a way to shortchange us. I get the NYC thing, it *is* the largest city in the U.S., but if he's returning to the other big cities in the region so soon, why not here?
That's what makes me think he might be playing Boston Calling, since there's no good reason to otherwise skip the area.
Somewhere there's a dive bar where Jeff Tweedy, Liam and Noel Gallagher, and MJ Lenderman are knocking back drinks and aiming their darts at a round cork board upon which a photo of the Citgo sign has been taped, and they laugh heartily with each throw. That dive bar isn't Sligo or the Model Cafe.
Wilco just announced a Brazil date on May 24, so they're likely out, provided that Memorial Day weekend is still the plan.
That's fine with me...I'd hate for their first Boston show in four years to be an abbreviated greatest hits set, especially since they've released three records, including a double album, since they last played locally. I'd rather get two nights at Roadrunner.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Looks like James Bay is a lock. Brooklyn on the 22nd and then Toronto on the 26th of May.
I do think that he generally works with LiveNation. He played one of the Lansdowne St. venues on his last tour, anyway.
He opened the first Hozier show I saw, 10 years ago this month on Halloween night at the Paradise. Hozier had wrapped himself up as the Invisible Man before he took the stage. Didn't get there on time to see Bay.

He just finished opening for Noah Kahan as well. He wasn't too bad but his target audience is primarily young women.
Fontaines D.C. possible? I was just at their Roadrunner show a few weeks ago, but they just announced a 2025 spring US tour and are hitting some of the same cities as their mini-2024 US tour (NYC (which they did 2 shows in), DC (2 shows)) and aren't in MA. Tour ends on the 16th of May. Could be a fun festival band, even though Grian Chatten is the only member showing any real emotion/movement during their set.
It looks like he's already headlining 7 festivals next year - 5 in the US, 2 in CA - so maybe that's what he's talking about? However, he has nothing scheduled in May after doing Stagecoach at the end of April and will be in Myrtle Beach on June 7th. So, he's free Memorial Day Weekend...

I'll echo booms - please no
I'm guessing the Hangout replacement is one
Unless he's a surprise guest, probably not, as that lineup is already out (Wallen, Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn, and whoever Hardy is).
Those tour dates look so good to hit BC, are we back?
MJ Lenderman is out - he's performing at Green River Festival (Greenfield, MA) in June. Mt. Joy (too soon to return), Courtney Barnett, Waxahatchee, Julien Baker & TORRES, Merce Lemon are also out since they are on this lineup too.
Can mark St. Vincent, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and, most likely, IDLES in the no category.
Actually, LinkedIn Park is still in play. They're not a band, it's just a bunch of tech professionals milling about, looking for jobs and selling their software.

We've seen too many artists play western MA fests or Newport and also Boston Calling in the same year (or the same week) to write any of them off. Isbell's done it a couple of times, in fact. Just because Wilco refuses to play Boston in a Solid Sound year anymore (or play Boston at all), that doesn't mean that other bands won't.
At this point, there's a 90% chance I'm leaving Boston in Q4 of next year and 99% chance I'll be gone by the end of Q1 2026, so I'd really like a decent lineup this year. Some of the places on my short list to move to have festivals, some don't, so my last Boston Calling better be good.
(With retirement 4-5 years off, I've got to move somewhere with lower rents, which is basically anywhere other than NYC or the Bay Area. I also need decent public transportation, and I've got three cities in mind, which I'll be visiting next year to check out the vibe. Of course, I'm timing those visits to coincide with shows by favorite artists.)
