Sierra Farrell is great, very old timey country and not at all like the other two...thankfully.
But after the news that Post Malone is doing Coachella, which didn't bode well for us, it's very good news that neither he nor Jelly Roll are playing BC.

I'd rather see Farrell at Newport or a standalone show though, not BC
Knowing BC, they'd bury her mid afternoon on Blue and 200 people would be at that set
Until her tour dates drop I’m gonna delusionally hope for Charli XCX headlining
Most of the US locations that she's teasing an upcoming tour for are in the 20-30k capacity range, so it wouldn't be out of left field for her to be one of the headliners. We usually have some hints to who will be performing but, outside of James Bay, all announced 2025 Spring/early Summer tours for artists that would make sense for BC (although, given the last few years, none of it makes sense) are at other Boston venues (large or small).
Glixen possibly as a 2PM blue stage act? Up and coming/big word of mouth shoegaze band just announced a 2025 tour that hits all of the usual east coast markers - Atlanta, Durham, DC, Philly, NYC, Toronto, Montreal, but not Boston prior to Coachella in April.
Also, with the surprise Kendrick album drop, maybe Kendrick - Charli XCX - Mumford or some other big Americana/Country adjacent act (but Mumford is showing up on festival posters lately)

even with Mumford, that top 3 would be a significant step up from their top 3 last year (as much as I like The Killers).

You're absolutely right. Do a Mumford Friday, Charli Saturday, and Kendrick to close it out and you have 3 sold out, or close to sold out days. Just do a better job of spread with bigger/counter acts on Blue and every day should feel like Friday of this year vs Sunday 2024/Saturday 2023.

that's only if boston calling decides to be cool
She's definitely big enough to headline, but there's been a widening divide among the current crop of pop divas -- those who stay on the disco/hip hop/electronic side of the fence, and those who embrace a rock influence in the mix, whether in the melodies, chord changes, beats, or guitars.
There are now plenty of big draws on both sides of the fence, but for a mixed genre festival that's leaned most heavily into rock headliners of late, they'd be better off booking Olivia Rodrigo (who appears to be on the festival circuit next year), Chappell Roan, or Billie Eilish who are going to be much better received by the thousands who just saw a guitar band on Red or Blue than Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, or someone like that.

I still haven't seen a better performance this year than Tyler Childers at BC. Incredible band and great stage presence; it's as if E Street was in eastern Kentucky and not New Jersey.
