She came through Cincinnati twice in 1997 on the Tidal tour, and I was lucky enough to catch her both times. I remember she did beautiful covers of Jimmy Cliff's "Sitting In Limbo" and Jimi Hendrix's "Angel", and I'm bummed she never recorded either. Anyhow, after the first show, she was hanging out her bus window behind the venue signing autographs. I had her sign my ticket stub, and my idiot friend instead wrote his phone number on his ticket stub, handed it to her, and told her to call him. She rolled her eyes and threw it on the ground, so now I have a signed Fiona Apple ticket stub, and my buddy has gotten made fun of by me and all our friends every time we've remembered it for the last 26 years. And that's my Fiona Apple story.
