Got a couple updates from some friends who said CloZee’s set was good then Tipper was great. Also threw some praise for Daily Bread and Dirtwire. Not so much love for that Black Pumas set. One said Tash had to leave so they got an extra UM and Spafford set to replace. He had a jam schedule today of Spafford Cheese Frasco Cheese Umphrey’s Sublime Spafford with maybe a pass by Liquid Stranger. Not a bad day.
I’m about halfway home, taking a break at a rest stop. This was one of my favorite Hula’s… And one that was super easy for me to tap into. Lots of opinions on either side of the spectrum tho. Don’t have much time to rly get into it now, but Spafford’s late night set on Saturday was easily my favorite of the weekend, full on spiritual experience… FN WOW. Black Pumas flat performance and the chaos of both Chris Lake’s set were some of my least favorite moments. Spirit Lake needs to be improved but the Def stage was pretty cool, just some kinks to work. Will get more into it later.

Def stage was a fantastic addition, at some points it felt like you were inside a venue. really enjoyed it. for me personally some of the scheduling could've been better as a lot of artists i wanted to see had direct overlapping conflicts (and most were on Thurs), but overall a great time. new discovery/standouts for me were Davezilla and Cassian. Nora en Pure was great. Sunday night ending so early was weird, i don't remember it shutting down that early the last two years i went. and what they really really really could improve on is having cell service, i had none from the second i hit the gate til i left. on the one hand it was nice to completely unplug, but on the other it was extremely frustrating when trying to link back up with my crew (thank god for totems). overall, another great hula and will very likely be back!

Had great service with T-mobile the whole show per usual. All my homies with Verizon were struggling tho

We ran into Rico and Erin from dirt road disco on Tuesday night and they have become lifelong friends. The dust was absolutely brutal this year. Wife and I have upper respiratory infections and we stayed masked up as much as possible. Every person we were camped around in renaissance was amazing! Our neighbors got engaged at camp. I cooked so much food and fed a ton of people. We’re will be back next year for sure! We’re going to rent a camper and have it delivered. My old ass needs climate control. I put in 55 miles from Monday to Monday and don’t feel like it except for the dust.
