I go to Costco about once a week. You have to pay them to be a member, but if you use your membership, you’ll get that $65.00 back pretty easily. Gas was $2.49 last week. I like their giant sacks of nuts and provide our department at work the large super deluxe mixed nuts and the sweat heat snack mix at all times. What you get for 11.99 would cost about $30 or more if you bought cans of greasy planters. Wine selection is limited but they always have some good deals. Produce is very good there. Massive double sized cherry tomatoes for about half the price at groceries. You can get relatively inexpensive prime beef which I love but only eat once or twice a year. Their eye doctor is good at the one I go to. I get the 100 box of sasha-matcha green tea for like 10.00.
Some of the cons are that it’s often hit af. Even though the lines move it’s annoying if you only have one or two items. Unless you want an 8 pack of toothpaste or a 30 pack of razor blades, and I don’t, you can’t take advantage of some of the savings. Same goes with enormous bags of chips which are sure to be broken into small pieces by the time you finish it or else they’ll be stale. They use an enormous amount of plastic packaging. Some of the aisles are too narrow for the large baskets and elderly people pushing them or otherwise the lollygaggers who take their sweet ass time or just leave their baskets blocking your passage. That’s mostly in the tabletop aisles but sometimes you need to cut through there to get to the other side.
I gave it a 4 but I think that’s a little high. It’s ballpark unlike that dumb 8 for Ulta

This sounds exactly like Sam’s. At Sam’s you can do scan and go and skip the line. Costco probably has that too.

Sam’s is Walmart, and I assume they treat their employees accordingly. From what I gather, Costco takes care of their employees and has for a long time.
I tend to go to Sam's more than Costco bc it has the snacks we prefer and I love the scan and go feature, plus Sam's is near me and Costco is across the river. 🤷♀️ BUT, I love Costco.

The only knocks on me for Costco come from more personal things. There's only one in Knoxville, and it's in West Knoxville which is my least favorite part of town bc it's just assholes with money and chain stores. There's a ton of main character syndrome going on there. I've remarked before that I almost get hit every time I drive there bc of someone just ignoring the rules of the road for their own benefit. In addition, it's near a big shopping hub, so Costco is always insanely busy the entire weekend. I went on a Saturday once and refuse to ever do that again bc it was so bad.
costco is better for buying games than gamestop even. i just got the new zelda for $52 and they also sell $100 nintendo eshop/playstation store cards for $90

1. treat their employees well = happy employees 2. great deals, save money 3. 95% of the time what you buy there is thoroughly tested by their purchasers and thus of high quality 4. huge range of different kinds of items but even more importantly there isn't a ton of different types of the same kinds of items, so no analysis paralysis like standing n the aisle holding three different kinds of marinara wondering which one is the best. just get the Raos because it's the one they have (and it's the best). 5. elite food court. hot dog, pizza, sandwich, salad, ice cream 6. with the executive membership (2% back on purchases) + cash back card (another 2% on purchases plus add'l percentages back on non-costco purchases) i get a nice cash back check once a year. best cash back card in the biz. 7. best gas prices 8. easy return policy 9. extra year warranty on hardware purchased at costco with costco credit card 10. vibrant "fan" community online that can help you identify the best deals or easily find reviews on items
the only negatives are you have to buy large quantities of most stuff and i can't get coffee filters there.
People fanboying out and overrating this mfer too early in the game.
The list of stores I don’t mind going to is a short one. Costco, REI, Nordstrom, Ace Hardware, my local bookstore, and my local record store. That’s really about it. The first three are the only ones that might show up here. That’s why I’m going with 1.

Nordstrom Rack is bullshit. Idk about just regular Nordstrom but, the rack portion... Fuck them.
We went in looking for Birkenstocks, scoured, found an ok pair. Go to the journey's and they're all the same price and obviously not as good of quality as journeys.
Plus, tried on Levi's on my Levi's size/style and they were too small. I know that's not right. I'm over them completely.

Notice Nordstrom Rack did not make my list. That place is a chaotic free-for-all.
Again not the worst and I shop there myself and like what I buy. But it’s a bit overrated by the forum. It’s better than Jared or CVS, but there are better and higher quality retailers. Y’all like some soccer mom energy.

Idk what you want as #1 but for a blind survivor, Costco is definitely S tier.

S tier? Idk. I rate it as fine. I don’t like lines but I do like options. I don’t have a lot of hate for it but I got better shit to do than rep for it like others have. It’s their prerogative but it’s not that important to me.
