I forgot to mention this. We drove down from Clumbus, OH but I dont take the route bonnaroo says to, I take the route they say for people out west. We drove down and passed the huge line to get in which was on our left hand side on the other side of the highway. We were traveling on the east bound lanes. Originally they said use exit 112 I think. It then said it was closed and to go to exit 120 something. It was not marked as a roo exit but signs on the road did point us to the back entrance. The key thing here, NO LINE. We passed about 2 miles of cars on the way in waiting for the other entrance and while we had to drive an extra 25 mins to get to the other entrance we rolled right in, no wait at all, none, zip zero. FYI for you all.
Where were you camped? The last two times I used the "back route", Bushy Branch Rd coming from the east, we were camped WAY out in BFE (35-40 minutes to Centeroo).

Yeah the same happened for us and we had no wait BUT we ended up camped on the VERY furthest outskirts which was about a 45 minute walk to Centeroo. I do not wish that on my worst enemy
This was the same thing we did. Got stuck way back in pod 11, but it was nice and quiet and we got plenty of exercise walking to Centeroo a few times a day
The last two years we've gone in the middle of the night and arrived between 11:30 Wed and 1:30AM Thu. We hit no lines but we did end up in Shakedown. It is a helluva long walk up that hill to Centeroo but I kinda like the area. You can still here the main stage from your site depending on your neighbors, quick access to food and port-a-potties, and you can actually see and be a bit sheltered by trees. I really wish that they would move a set of those showers down there though!
we went bushy branch in 04 and got put in the boonies. 05 and 06 we got in the highway entrance between 5 and 7 am on thursday and you couldnt get a better spot. we could see the stage both years. i could see the inforoo flag about 100 yards away in tent only this year. i highly recommend using this strategy if you want be in a prime spot. and ive never actually seen the drug dogs that are in use for roo but i know that they are not going to hold up traffic on the highway to do that crap they will be doing it at the bushy branch entrance.

Actually, I had the same experience. '04 (first year) the wife and I took exit 112 and got an excellent spot. '05 we followed the official Bonnaroo signs and took Bushy Branch, which put us way out of the way (walking briskly, it took us about 25 minutes from our camp to Centeroo). So this year we ignored the signs and took exit 112 again, and again got a great spot. I had assumed they mixed up the camping so that people wouldn't figure out some pattern and all arrive at the same time and place, but apparently there is a very simple pattern: you're put close to where you come in. So simple it's brilliant.
I have took exit 112 the past three years. I got there at 4:00 pm on thursday this year, and was in camp Hans Solo, bout a 10 minute walk to centeroo. Im gonna try getting there earlier this year hopefully get a better spot. The only year I got stuck in traffic was in 04 we got there at 800 pm thursday and we waited on the side of the interstate for four hours.
I am definitely going to arrive on Wednesday night this year. I don't care where I end up cause I'll just cart my stuff over to tent-only anyway. Yeah it could be a hell of a long walk to drag my stuff, but I'll have all night to space out the trips.

Girl, you know where you'll end up!! BONNALITO!!! ;D ;D
We did the same thing last year, and it worked out beautifully. When we passed the line of cars, it was probably 4-5 miles long. We didn't wait at all to get in, and while I can't remember which pod we were by, I do remember that it was only a 5 (at most) minute walk to get to Centeroo.

Yeah, just don't let Jay coax you into walking from the 'Lito, to bring your sh*t into Roo during the wee hours of the morning.
Some security dude told me we were way too early in the tent only section and claimed they were going through with box cutters and slicing up the tents that were already up. Needless to say, it was bullsh*t, but I was in no condition to decipher BS from truth. ;D

WOW that's ridiculous!!
Kinda funny you mention that though cause I was totally thinking I'd head over from Joel's in the wee hours to beat the morning traffic! So if you do the same thing this year, what time do you think you'd drive in/start moving your stuff over?
Well, if VIP pans out for us, we'll just have to see -- probably late night if possible, but I'm not sure how that works with the passes and sh*t. Maybe someone else can provide a little more insight.

Dude, I will never do that again! That sucked for me as much for ya. That was indeed a learning experience.
I think me and my crew are going to Tent only this time around. It was good meeting people but it was hit or miss wondering by tent only. Didn't ge the full benefits.
haha you think so but if I could care a sun shelter, a tent, two camping chairs, an inflatable mattress, a pillow, tons of clothes and other random camping stuff, and 2 giant jugs of margaritas from the plane to the bus to tent only (I was really sweaty!) trust me, you could swing it!
Did you check the jugs of Margaritas or were they carry-on?
checked them - they were in the center of my duffel bag with the un-inflated air mattress wrapped tightly around them, and then clothes and shoes packed around where there was room left. i figured that way, if they did end up breaking i would cry, but at least maybe the mattress would protect my clothes somewhat from getting soaked! but luckily all went well

...that is until you and jason downed them in one night and he ripped off his alcohol soaked shirt over a tiki torch and nearly burned down the inforoo camp
Last year we arrived at like 3AM Thursday morning and were stuck way out in the boonies as well.. we gathered up our stuff and started to cart out crap to tent-only and were stopped. the security guards rounded everyone up and refused to let anyone pass a certain point for nearly 3 hours.. it was ridiculous. everyone was screaming and cursing at the security about being a herd of sheep, f*ck you, lets overpower and take down the police because there are more of us, etc.. and there were several kids that were thrown out of bonnaroo. it as intense.. tiring.. and annoying. Can't remember the camp name.. but it was east of centeroo right around the very end of bushy branch road. just a heads up!!
