Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Y'all remember to keep a charge on your phone until Sunday if there is a Dad to call to wish happy Father's Day, and call him before you get all effed up, unless he is cool like that
Normally these size events (especially in otherwise unpopulated rural areas) are serviced by temporary cell towers (called COWs). These provided the extra capacity necessary to handle the extraordinary amounts of traffic. This would be true even if a permanent tower is built on site, since that single tower can not handle the load of 80K people. Each service provider (Cingular, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.) will need COWs that use their cellular technology. That said, Since Cingular is the largest provider in the nation and has a strong grip on the same market group as catered to at Bonnaroo, Cingular will most undoubtedly have the most subscribers at the event and therefore the most traffic. I cannot speak for previous years but since Cingular (AT&T) is now one of the primary sponsors of Bonnaroo I would hope that they focus on improving the service for the event. I will check around to see what I can find out.

It would be great if they improved because I know last year it was hard to get a call out unless you tried first thing in te morning when the majority of people were still passed out
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I'm actually surprised to hear that. I haven't been to Bonnaroo yet, but everywhere else I go nextel's service is terrible. I have lost service under an umbrella, and in a car multiple times. Hopefully I'll have better luck in Tennessee.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
I say cell phones, we had walkie talkies at our first roo back in 03 and noticed way too many people using the same channel so it was basically useless. This year we are trying the walkie talkies again, but we got full on professional radios with a private channel.
My Verizon was fine last year. But the year prior it was spotty. I just tell everyone I'll be out of contact and I don't use my phone at all unless I'm trying to meet up with actual Roo'ers.
