A couple of friends you are going with me this year absolutely insist on taking a R.V. So I have a few questions about the R.V. campsites. Are they as fun as the regular campsites? It seems to me that alot of people would be chilling in there rv's making for less social interaction. Are there seperate entry lines for rv's, and if so are they longer? Where are the rv sites located in proximatey(sp) to centeroo?
If anyone has any other bits of info I would appreciate it.
Honestly, the line question can't be easily answered, as they seem to change things every year. RVs, from what I've seen, are just as fun as regular camping. People are just as friendly, and the increased shade area makes for a bigger place to make friends.
We're going RV this year, and I look forward to having a cool, shady place to take naps and whatnot. What you may give up in social interaction, you make up for when you're able to stay up all night in Centeroo when the fun really starts.
RVs give people the option of being non-social, but they don't have to be that way. You can still roam the grounds looking for the crazy folks gathering together to rage, or they might be in the RV next door.

Trust me, you want to be in a RV... I've went both ways and like mentioned above; you'll be better rested by far; I'm going in a RV again this year.... Remember two nights the sets run till 4 in the morning , then after you get back to, say your tent at 5am, fall asleep; then the Sun rises at 6:30 and by 8am your in a sweat hut....As opposed to a RV, where you get back , fall asleep in A/C and sleep till say noon... You'll also have shorter walks all weekend, because you'll be closer to Centeroo
I find that only during the day do people get anti-social-- because IF they are at their RV in the day, than they are usually IN their RV when they are there, getting a drink, using a proper bathroom and enjoying AC.
I can only speak for RV's in VIP (when I did general camping I never did an RV) but it was no less a party place. In fact, in VIP the line is pretty blurred between RV and camping areas so it was a much less segregated feeling.
You'll also have shorter walks all weekend, because you'll be closer to Centeroo
You might be closer in a RV section, but in no way is that guaranteed. See the map I linked to in the earlier post. There were 4 sections right by the main entrance last year, and they were farther out than probably 30% of GA tent camping, not to mention tent-only.
That said, an RV does sound nice with many of the amenities that a hotel provides. My main reason for not using one is that I just don't want my vehicle tossed on the side of the road (Cops seem to have a hard-on for the RVs). YMMV.
