Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
i will be attending this summer (driving out from washington) and have no clue how the camping works at bonnaroo. can i pick where i want to camp ahead of time? if so, what are some low traffic recommended spots? (i don't mind walking a bit.) is there off site camping that is much better?

Sometimes you can time it so that you get a decent spot, or so I hear. It's always seemed random to me. In '04 we came in mid-day (3pm) thursday and were placed about 30-40 yards off of ShakeDown (5-10 minute walk to Centeroo), only waiting for about 45 mins in traffic. Last year we got to our usual entry point (down hwy 55) at about 10am only to find it blocked-off, adding an additional 3-4 hrs to our wait. We were then jammed into the rockiest, most over-crowded spot imaginable (30-40 minute walk to Centeroo). We don't seem to have any luck in timing-it-out. Hope you do better.
thanks for the info. is there any off site camping that is close enough? i have done a search and found a camp site called 'larue'. anyone ever heard of that one?
one other question... how big are the camp spots in the car/camp area? i'm planning on bringing a tent, but will most likely just crash in the bed of my truck. will i have room to setup a tarp, chair and maybe a grill behind my truck?
I think camping inside of roo is the way to go. If you are commuting from outside you would still have to find parking for the car and possibly have a far walk ahead of you. There is more than enough camping for everyone :-)

Yep plenty of room. We had 2 tents up and plenty of room in between for chairs, grill etc. Some people had their tent and a large shade tent in their spots.
i've tried to contact them, but no response. perhaps its too early...
Dude do not camp at this place...You will spend the same amount on roo tickets wether you are camping or not, in addition, I do not know what thier website says, but I know where this guys place is and it is easily an hour+ walk to centeroo. You WILL be farther away than ANYONE who is camped inside the festival grounds.
I have also heard that his area is infested wth mosquitos...

you gotta have the expierence of camping inside the farm
Agreed!! Even though I had my first Roo parked at the very edge of the campground, it still was a blast. It's part of the whole experience and I think you will regret it if you go elsewhere.
Man, half of the experience is the people anyway. I wouldn't have ever had anywhere near the fun I had without all the interesting people I met and talked to and walked around with. Love thy neighbor.
i cant decide my bro wants to camp by the car but i heard a lto of good things about the tent only area but im not sure if i wanna lug mystuff around i have a feelin im gunna over pack
Does it really get any better than the Inforoo camp in tent only? Honestly last year was the first year and it went pretty well (the people who camped there can give you a better account). W e didn't "lug" our stuff up there but did hang out there quite a bit. I have a feeling this year is going to be 100 percent better. Plus we will be in VIP and hopefully have something organized there as well.
Just go with the flow and do what seems best when you get there, you will learn that any plans for anything when you get to roo is usually subject to change, just know your options.

This will also be my first time, and just gotta say reading this message board is getting me even more psyched up to go.
Regarding the camping, if we go to the tent only area, we then get to choose where we camp correct? If we camp by our car, then we just end up camping wherever the "system" puts us based on when we get there and all that good stuff?
Anywhere is great. We have been close and far, and this year VIP. No matter where you are, there will be teh Inforoo meet up in tent only and (hopefully VIP). If you decide to go tent only you get all of your walking out of the way first day.

Yep...tent-only is first come, first serve. And you usually have way more room there, from what I've seen.

Thanks much guys. This board is amazing, I love the community feeling. I'll definitely force my friends to walk on over to the inforoo gathering point to say "Hi!"

Has anyone ever had problems with any kind of theft? I think I want to do tent only, however my friend (whose car we'll drive) is anxious about leaving his car untended for 4 days.

I'd say when you park, tell your neighbors that they'll have tons more space because you're heading over to tent only, and ask them to keep an eye on your car when they're around! they'll be so happy with the extra space, i'm sure they'll oblige, not really any skin off their nose!
