Everyone here should be fairly open minded. So this year maybe everyone walking around with water guns can stop themselves from squirting people in the face who are either not expecting it or seem to not enjoy it. Anyone else here annoyed by the people spending the entire day squirting people in the face?
ive never been shot in the face with a water gun at roo. everyonce in a while someone will come by with a mist bottle. but they have always seemed to do it to those who want them to. some people are freekd out by it but i ll take any type of cooling i can get. i think its just people being cool. ive heard people think they might put drugs in it or something but thats nonsense. maybe in the old days. tey would charge you for it now though.
Last year I heard alot of irritated people and I was one of them. All I am saying is just show some common courtesy and ask before you impose on somone who does not enjoy it.

I wear glasses, so getting sprayed can be annoying (just try cleaning your glasses with a sweat-soaked shirt), but I realize that it's always only meant in a nice, complimentary way. There is no reason to get bent out of shape about it, it's just water.....cool, refreshing water. If your so neurotic that you can't deal with something as mundane and innocent as cool water, then maybe Bonnaroo isn't for you. It's water, pure and simple. A momentary mist, spray or squirt is the last thing anyone should be complaining about. Your body is not only made of it, but (undoubtedly) in need of it...so it's not going to hurt you! I have MANY, MANY phobias and hang-ups but, come on! People are just trying to be friendly, as water is a truly precious commodity amongst Roo-ers. Get over it, stay home or make a total d*ck out of yourself. It's your choice but, make no mistake, It's all on you!

well thats pretty rowdy stuff there. although not too surprising from the dude who lost his cool at roo. id say unwanted squirt gun blasts to the face are on par with line cutting as far as severity of the offense. ;D

Yeah, I get that. But, someone casually walking by and spraying you is quite different than someone trying to screw you out of a two-hour wait. The "sprayers" mean no disrespect...they are (maybe foolishly) trying to be comforting and friendly. People trying to walk directly out of one show into another via cutting in front of hundreds of patient, orderly "others" is something else entirely. One is(possibly) naive and misguided, the other is just plain disrespectful and selfish! Even cleaning your glasses with a sweat-soaked tshirt doesn't take as long as the wait to get into the comedy tent, right? I knew you would probably call me on it, but...1.) It's totally different (come on!) and....2.) I wasn't screwing anyone one in anyway!

well your entitled to say that water squirting isnt a big deal was just pointing out that calling the dude out as not cut out for roo or that he was going to make a di.ck out of himself about it wasnt really necessary.

I'm not saying it was necessary. I was apologizing for it, if you remember. It was what I regreted, right? I was just saying that there is no way to justify getting sh*tty about someone spraying water on you, when you know (for a fact) that it is in no way malicious. You may not dig it (I don't), but if you tell them that, that particular person WILL stop. When you tell someone that they are screwing hundreds of fellow Roo-ers, and they try to tell you that they've been in-line all-along and that you're in the wrong....That's entirely different.
no man... im saying it wasnt necessary to call out this guy in this thread. he just said he didnt want to get sprayed in the face and you said roo wasnt for him and said hed be acting like a di,ck. thats what i was refering to. as for the dude cutting feels like your searching for someone to condone your rage. ill say cutting is wrong. but calmly calling them out in front of everyone probably would have achieved the same goal. without screwing up the vibe for all around.

Alright man, I get what you're saying. What I was saying is that he could accept being sprayed(and not like it) or make a d*ck out of himself....THERE, not here! I'm all about expressing how you feel here, where you have the time and space to do it. There, however, it may not come across so well. He may, in fact, come across as a d*ck. I don't like being sprayed either, but I know it's going to happen and I deal with it(usually by saying something as simple as "please don't...my glasses"). That's really all it takes, in my experience. I'm a strong believer in personal "comfort zones & conditions", but I also understand that not everyone is on my same page. I was just trying to convey that voicing your displeasure here, in a faceless way, isn't really that effective so he might want to consider how saying in person was likely to come across. That's all! As far as my "issue" with the people at the comedy tent goes, it did seem like your were trying to use that against me in your argument about the whole "water" thing, and I did think that was out of line. If I was wrong, I apologize to you too. I'm not trying to make any enemies here, i'm just trying to be realistic!
no worries man. and i wasnt trying to use it against you. just seems that you have a way of flying off the handle. that was the point. just seemed like you berated the guy over him voicing his displeasure at unwanted money shots as ziggy put it...lol

You have no idea what went on that night, so you really can't use the word "rage"...can you(I didn't). I've already said that I over-reacted, but I was not wrong! I posted that whole story in the "biggest regrets" thread, so I realize that I acted (understandably, perhaps) out of line. I was never trying to justify it and you had no idea anything had happened that night until you read what I wrote, so you really can't intelligently comment, can you? Bonnaroo is supposed to be an environment of peace and mutual respect , but if someone can't adhere to that standard...they don't deserve it in return! Do They?

I posted my last post after your last, so I want apologize (again) for any unnecessary hostility. I'm drunk too, so i'm sorry for any disrespect to anyone. I really don't have a tendancy to "fly off the handle", so I don't understand why you would say that...but it's cool. I have been more than a little hostile in my responses, but we're cool now....right?

That's what I dig about you. While we may (strongly) disagree from time to time, we can eventually accept the other's position and call it quits. ....Until next time?

Geez it went from a simple little statement to chaos. I think oatmeal is wound a little too tight. Everyone here always preaches open mindedness until it imposes on their belief. Once it does they tell you you shouldn't come to the festival. I nicely ask that sprayers don't spray in the face and this guy says "If you don't like it go home" Oatmeal needs to calm down and look how insane and out of control his anger is. Oatmeal just try and be a little friendlier to the rest of us. He says I made a dick out of myself but I have been cordial the entire time. I don't get his rage.

There was no "rage" involved anywhere in my posts. I was just giving my opinion. I was just trying to say that, if water is that bothersome to you, maybe your the one who is "wound too tight". Maybe it's you getting bent out of shape because someone dared to question/disagree with you. I meant no harm and If I offended anyone, I am truly sorry. Look back at any of my previous posts and you'll see that I do try to be friendly and helpful, but you won't find any "rage".
well everyone disagreed with him. but only one said stay home or look like a dic.k again i thought he just posted his opinion. oatmeal seems to be the one bent out of shape by things. but oh well. again not much you can do but ignore or just try to be friendly.
