In 2004, we drove straight in at 8am on Friday to day parking (we were expecting 2 hours or more). No line at any time we drove in or out until after the final headliner - then only 10 minutes to hit SR55. Thursday would be a nightmare, I guess - we waited until Friday to come in.

If I remember correctly, they don't open the lot for day parking on Thursday morning like they do for general admission campers b/c the concerts officially begin on Friday. So you would have to wait until Friday morning to come in - this means there should be almost no line at all, as the line is created by everyone trying to get in Thursday and set up camp.

I heard of people getting turned away from day parking on the Thursday so I have emailed them to find out if that will happen again this year. It says in the ticket info that the ticket price covers admission and parking for the full 4 days, so they need to be letting us in to day parking on Thursday afternoon or evening at least.
That is correct, our friends missed the Motet last year because they drove to day parking and were turned away. It may not be the same this year as they are touting it as a 4-day festival. Maybe they will have it open on Thur eve this year, but it was definitely closed on Thur night last year!
