I know I read last year that people were able to get into the camping area wednesday night.
My question is, when do they start letting people in, and at any point do they close the gate.
last year I drove from NYC via DC and arrived at like 10:00am, so it wasn't an issue. This year i am driving from DC only, and will probably be arriving early morning, like 5 or 6, maybe as early as 3 or 4. Will I be able to get in??

i wanna say around 4 or 5 ish , i remeber it was getting dark right as we were finishing setting up camp. they did put way out in the boonies, and we had to wait untill 9 or 10 the next morning before moving in to tent only

Yeah, as bad as the wait is, it is better to wait a few hours rather then get in as soon as possible, because they WILL f*ck you and put you out as far as possible.
We got in around 11 p.m. on Wednesday night last year - ended up through the woods, down the road, across the bridge - I did not think it was a bad place, relatively quiet - about 20 min walk - not bad at all
Gates are open wednesday night for GA, but they do not open the gates for the VIP entrance until around 9-10 am on thursday morning. VIP is different than GA in that you have to go to the Holiday Inn conference room to exchange your VIP ticket for a wristband, and then go get in line at the VIP Gate. They didn't open the VIP room in the Holiday Inn until around 7 am last year. We got there about 6 AM, and there were probably 100 people in line waiting for them to show up at that point. After that it was down the road a couple blocks to the road that led us the back way in to bonnaroo (near the satellite lot). There we waited in line til about 9 AM. They said they wouldn't open the VIP gates til 10, but we were inside at like 9:30 am.
I wonder why the difference with VIP? just seems odd. Maybe we'll leave Thursday morning instead of midnight.
When I was there in '05 I ended up at the very end of Woodland Ave. Camp H I think. Long walk for sure. It looked like everyone who was there earlier ended up at the closer spots of the Woodland Ave section. We got there right around when gates opened on Thursday AM. There were lots of RV's already parked (and like they had been a while) in the RV section.
I still wonder why I didn't just throw our stuff in tent-only camping while we were waiting in line...
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this

is the Holiday Inn thing only for a travel package? or what? and does anyone know where the VIP entrance is? i've searched for hours and can't find any good info thanks

^^^ not too sure about the travel packages - but if you get vip tickets you have to go to the Holiday Inn to trade your ticket. Then VIP entrance is just around the corner from there - a little bit of a traffic pain in the ass because they have to filter the non-vip people out of that line, but it's relatively efficient.

That's not true - we came in a half hour after the gates opened and we were a 5 minute walk away from Centeroo at most.
