Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Thanks for this thread there is tons of helpful information here. We're bringing a group of 6 of us this year and all of us are new to the 'roo, so this was very helpful.
"When I was 4 years old, they tried to test my IQ. They showed me a picture of three oranges and a pear. They asked me which one is different, and does not belong. They taught me different....is wrong." -- Ani Difranco
Dani, karma to you for the hard work you did organizing all the info here. It is a resource I'm sure I will come back to again and again before the big day since I am a roovirgin.
I do have a couple of questions. Where are the vendors, in Centeroo? I tried to see on the map of centeroo, but not enough detail that I could read. Where is the shakedown area?

there are a few shakedowns. they are one the main roads. the biggest shakedown is the main shake down......i couldn't tell where that was last year, cuz they were all so amazing
Dani thanks for the info, it really has been a help to my friends I am meeting up with as well as myself.
Quick question in general (to whomever), related to parking...So if you have an RV pass (that includes a companion vehicle), does anyone know if you'll be able to park the companion vehicle in the RV area? My friend will be driving in with an RV, and we'll be meeting up before we go in and I was hoping I'd be able to park in the same area.
I have never taken an RV, but I am pretty sure that the companion vehicle is just that, a compainion. So... Im going to vote that yeah, they can park with you.
"The Companion Vehicle pass will allow an accompanying vehicle into a designated camping area next to the RV camping areas. Companion Vehicles will not be allowed to park directly next to an RV. The Companion Vehicle must arrive together with the RV so it can be parked in the appropriate corresponding area. Make sure you stay together as you approach the site. Companion Vehicles will not be allowed to park in the RV area fire lanes. Any vehicles or obstructions will be removed at the owner’s expense."

???hey i'm a first timmer. i am a little cunfused about when the best time to go is? you said they open gates on wed, but the web site says this year thurs at 7:00, is that what you got? and thanx for all the good info.
Thanks comatoast... I didnt know they still had last years infoguide up somewhere.
I believe that's from this year's guide. They posted it a week or two ago.
Bonnaroo's site says they revised last year's edition for this year. Well it's either that or they just reposted last year's guide and said it was from this year.
As for when the best time to go is, there is a lot of different opinions on this. I'm yet to go to one yet, but I know there are a couple of threads on this topic. You can look through them and decide for yourself, but I don't think anyone has a definitive answer.
I'm just obsessing over this thing. Really. People don't want to talk to me anymore. (I'm a Roo virgin, most likely traveling alone from Maryland--quite a pilgrimage.)
But it's such a damn delight to be wandering through Sally Army or Target or wherever, considering purchases for this event. I realize that I'm focused on providing for my own pleasure, for equipping myself for an event that's all about fun and creativity and perhaps a shift of perceptions. It's wonderful.
Anyway, I think I might have a few other questions that I can't quite answer on my own.
Having planned all along to car camp, I had a radical change of plans yesterday afternoon, and I'm now looking at tent-only. I'm arriving Thursday. Like that Murphy individual above, I might want to sneak out on Saturday morning (in my case it's for laundry, etc.).
I'm still not clear on this: Is the parking area for tent-only campers different from the day-parking area for daily visitors?
And am I really, truly assured of those awesomely close campgrounds shown on the old maps if I go for tent-only and arrive on Thursday, or are some people who intended to be tent-only still sent over to the vehicle-bound camping areas?
(Cripes, when I think about entering this thing, I feel like a Hogwarts newbie waiting for the Sorting Hat.)

If you want to move to tent only, you still arrive as though you are going to the camp and park area. You take your car to wherever the people at the checkpoints direct you to and from there you can take your stuff to the camp only area. Be sure you know that you are not allowed to take your car to the camp only area, even only to drop off your stuff. You have to park your car in the designated area first, and haul all of it to tent only (which will be quite a pain if you're the only person, although there should be someone around you that wouldn't mind helping you out).
As for the other questions, I'm not too sure on myself. Someone around here should know about that though.
I'm trying to pack efficiently for that long, long walk. A long, long walk from the car still sounds like it's worth it versus a long, long walk to Centeroo every day!

You could actually wash some clothes at Bonnaroo, if you can't get your car out. There are wash stations were people wash hair, brush teeth, wash whatever. No hot water though.

Thanks, first karma!
And who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and be parked close to the tent only area. But prepare for the worst, so at least you'll be ready for it, if you have to.

Here it is: The lone cooler question...
Where is the best place to keep your cooler when you're not at your campsite. It seems like the Roo is the kind of place that I don't need to worry about people taking something out of my cooler but what about a cool place. We'll have a canopy and I'm assuming the tent and the car will heat up pretty quickly so I'm open for any suggestions.

We had a tarp over the space between our cars and kept 2 coolers right next to the cars under it. Our ice lasted a really long time and no one bothered our stuff.
You get 1 car pass per set of 2 tickets.Nobody without a vip pass can come into vip area. Thats part of the benfit of vip. You can walk 5 min to your site and chill btween sets while someone who paid $300 less might have to hike 20-30 min to their site.

Can't find the post now, but a while ago someone mentioned that they'd snuck into VIP once or twice in previous years. Never got an answer when I pressed for details. Not sure if he was fibbin', or just didn't want to kill the golden goose.
