I'd like to reply on the poop situation. Two years ago, my brother-in-law's brother had someone drop a huge log right outside his passenger side door. This thing was enormous. It was so gross that everytime I walked past it I couldn't help but stare at it. Kinda like driving past an accident. Anyway, I woke up and was walking toward the portajohns and of course, I was starring at the turd and the day prior some one had stuck a sail on the thing. It was probably made out of a toothpick and a scrap of paper or something. Freaking hilarious....yet gross.
If that's too disturbing for this forum let me know and I'll delete it.

It will take you an hour to get to Exit 111 (from East Nash). THP may shut down the exit and send you to Brushy Branch (BBR). If they do, they will close it between 7-8am. If you can get off at 111 you have a good chance of getting a decent spot (though no guarantee you won't end up in BFE). It may take an hour or so after you exit to get parked.
The one time I got routed to Brushy Branch, I was waiting at Exit 111 and they close it right in front of me (about 7:45 am). I drove to BBR and got in line, got to B-roo about 1pm and got a decent spot north of BBR (as BFE was full)
I might leave at 5-6am if you want to get there early and exit at 111 (depending on where in Nash)
Is Exit 111 the main exit used for Bonnaroo? I've heard about Exit 24, and about another "makeshift" back entrance...I am getting so confused! Can you only access Exit 111 early? I heard that if you go before 8am you'll get BFE...

Hey all, hope it is cool i am posting this here. 2007 is going to be my 1st bonnaroo. I've been wanting to go to this since i heard of it (about 4 yrs. ago). I have no idea why i had not heard of it before, nor why it took me this long to finally get some tickets. Anyways, What is the earliest date that the campground opens? Thanks.

The campgrounds will prolly open late wednesday if there are a lot of people there waiting. I think they say it opens "officially" at 7 a.m. on thursday but to help ease traffic they pretty much start letting people in when cars start to buildup on the roads.

Alright...here's the deal, as best as I can remember it. Feel free anyone, to correct me if I'm wrong.
Exit 111/112 (I think?) is the main entrance to Bonnaroo off of I-24. The problem is that after a certain time, if you're heading East on I-24, they close off those exits...and divert any eastbound traffic to the back entrance off of Bushy Branch Road. This wouldn't be so terribly bad, except that they were filling those campsites from back to front last year, so we watched people arriving hours later than us getting prime spots up close...as well as the people heading westbound on I-24 that were still able to exit on 111/112.
If I had it to do over again, I would have just pulled off where they told me, flipped a U-turn, and gotten back on I-24 West, into the main entrance with everyone else.
Thank you, joga. We are coming from Nashville so we will be taking I-24 East. Around what time do you think that they will divert traffic to Bushy Branch Road?
For Roo veterans: have they done things pretty much the same traffic/parking wise every year? It would suck if they change it a lot from year to year, because I mean we could do everything in our power to enter through Exit 111 (or 112 or whatever) rather than BBR and it turns out they are doing parking completely differently.
Cool Cool, thanks man. I have a couple more questions forya all. Whats the shower situation? I was considering picking up one of those camp shower things. Thinking 4 days of camping in Tenn. in the the middle of a field, well, you know. Thanks again, and peace.

Some people do the camp shower thing, and others use the washtents they have there. It's not a shower, but it's a big trough that has lots of faucets...the water is ice-cold, but it feels really good. I just wash my hair, face, teeths, etc etc in there.

Either way is common, though.
Yeah I used that also - I would go early in the morning before most people were up and wash my hair etc. ice cold water but damn it felt good!!

Heck yeah! I usually had to wait in line, but by the time I would walk in there, that water felt sooooooo good. I stayed in there for a good 30 minutes one day, happily bathing.

i've got a question...what is the atmosphere at the main stages? most of the fests that i've been to have main stages set up at the bottom of large hills so it's like an aphitheater (i don't know how to spell big words...sorry). is the farm flat? do people bring blankets to sit on during the shows or is it standing room only?
its really spaced out and flat. everybody is really chill about spots and you can lay out a blanket or work your way up to the front (usually you can get pretty far up doing this without trouble). as long as you arent bein an a$$ youll be fine.

There are certain patterns, but you can't count on everything being the same. It's meticulously organized chaos. I would say get in line around 7-9 AM going west on I-24 to hit exit 112, and hope for the best. Other people may have different advice, it's all a little random.

The main (What) stage is at the bottom of a hill, but it's not steep at all. Just enough to make for good visibility in the back. There's plenty of room to spread out, at least towards the back.
