Oh my god^, theyr delicious. They used to have them for lunch at school, and a few summer icecream places have them. They're triangles around here, DELICIOUS.
i thought fried coke was like... basically donuts dipped in coke. guess i was wrong.
you are correct. they "unveiled" fried coke at the Texas state fair last year. it is fried batter with some coke syrup in it. with coke syrup on top and whipped cream in a cup. it is revoltng. We were so excited to try it and it was a huge dissapointment. tasted like soggy funnel cake in a cup with cheap whipped cream on top. I couldn't taste anything that resembled coke.
The fried coke doesn't sound that great. The oreos and twinkies are pretty good, candy bars even better (note to self: let cool next time) but true bliss is fried pickles - big ol' dill, battered and dunked - sour, salty, greazy goodness!
some of the barbecue and locally owned restaurants here in my area of georgia have fried pickles. they are pretty good. you can also get them at the state fair. i prefer fried green tomatoes though. or okra. or squash. or cornbread. ok i know what im havin for dinner tomorrow.

Sonic resturants used to sell fried pickles, not sure if they still do. Mostly you'll find them at local mom and pop places. If any adventureous chefs want a go at it -
FRIED DILL PICKLES
1 egg, beaten 1 c. milk 1 tbsp. flour 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 6 drops hot sauce 3/4 tsp. salt 3/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. fresh dill 3 1/2 c. flour 1 qt. sliced dill pickles Wesson oil for deep frying
Combine first 5 ingredients, stirring well. Set aside. Combine 3 1/2 cups flour, salt, pepper, and dill stirring well. Dip pickles in milk mixture and dredge in flour mixture, repeat process. Deep fry in hot oil, 350 degrees until pickles float to surface and are golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
ok..can't say I've heard of the freind pickle.....sounds pretyt good actually too. where and how can i try/get one?
oh yeah!! when i was pregnant with my son i lived off of fried pickle slices....mmmmmm so good!!!! one of the perks of being prego and living in new orleans, the food there is awesome!!!
