Hi Everyone, yes I know I haven't been on posting in awhile but I have been watching etc. I wanted to know first of all, Why is it that Bonnaroo only sells the VIP in pairs! My hubbys bestfriend is coming this year with us and we've decided after last year and being in Camp Goldmember that we are going VIP. But we are a Threesome this year! My hubbys bestfriend doesn't want to get stuck carrying an extra ticket or even paying for an extra ticket. When will they all go on sale?
Ok! From the Canadians who had an absolute blast, Hugs and Peace everyone!!
I'm almost 100% positive that they sell tickets in pairs so that they can issue one car pass for every two tickets, thus keeping the amount of cars in VIP down, and in turn, keeping to a minimum the amount of space needed for the VIP area.

That would make sense to me, keeps out the loners. And the depressing old guys that just sit in their camping chairs all day, all alone.....
Totally depressing! Well hubbys BF isn't a depressing sort, just no date for him this year! hehe. Do you find plenty of people looking for singles on here?

I'm kinda hoping they start selling VIP singles, with VIP parking costing extra, e.g. $500 for a ticket, $100 for car parking, $200 for RV parking, with only a limited # of parking spots available. Lots of people have the same ticket splitting problem (I did), and more than a few people carpooled or flew in for the weekend.
i hope they do sell singles, since im trying to convince a buddy of mine to go. and we will need VIP for him...but he is single, so unless that changes...

An Rv upgrade with VIP tickets is $75.00 ,Thats what we paid last yr.

Correct. What I was stating was my VIP 'wishlist'... since VIP parking is automatically tied into the VIP ticket price, it isn't fair to those that don't use it or those that drive solo. So make it cheaper for those that don't need a spot and more expensive for those that do.
Ok then, how easy is it for someone to split on a ticket for VIP. I mean do I pay for 4 tickets, sell one to you, (for example) and you are supposed to TRUST me until that ticket arrives in June? I'd be freaking out until that ticket came......... so how do people split on tickets? This is plain stupid I think to sell them in Pairs only especially being that they are quite costly. We aren't splitting a bag of popcorn here........ its a 600$ ticket! any responses from the expert VIP people!! ?? And no you didn't bring down the thread, I found it quite comical! Bonjour Mon Ami, Ca Va Bien Au jourdui?? ahaha My french isn't bad eh! Yes I'm canadian!!
hey single gal from philly all alone this year and am looking for a new friend to or group to tag along with...also looking for a famous group of neighbors from vip last year.. i have bob and clint, kitty cat..and on the otherside a group of neighrbors with some sweettart stuff and a beer pong table..one night the infamous chip parker was found...if anyone thinks any of this rings a bell let me know!!
Well we will definitely need someone to purchase a set of tix, or at least to send money to split on one ticket. We definitely make friends easy! WE canadians are total fun!

it's true - canadians are a lot of fun! i met the best ones during my morning jacket in 06 - they had some great local corn! and im going to an ice hotel there in a few months! so, um... blame canada?
The Ice Hotel! Haven't been there yet but my hubby and I were actually just talking about that hotel. I think it would be an icey blast for sure! Just received the DVD of live MMJ for Christmas although had already watched it several times while partyin. LOVE MMJ. Do you think they will show up this year for Bonnaroo? I e-mailed them last year and asked them if they would make an appearance and they actually mailed me back! I WAS SHOCKED! Whats your take on MMJ?

that was my first time seeing/hearing them in any significant way - now im hooked. although im a little nervous about what i read in a recent rolling stone where it sounds like they are going gospel (really). so we shall see... im not a religious guy and i dont know that i could really get into a holy rolling version of them - although jim james (according to that article) doesnt have a specific religious affiliation...so who knows.
i never thought to email them, but i have emailed sascha from kmfdm and he wrote me back a few times - once (probably in 1996 or 97) he asked people to submit new "translations" for the band name so - at the risk of losing karma here - i submitted 'kill mother fucking dave mathews' (i was def not into any kind of jam music at that time - dmb was fratboy rock to me). he wrote me back asking who dave mathews was - classic.
anyway, ice hotel in the beginning of march, so that will be fun i think - ill write a review when we get back...

Hey Soulmate, Nice to see you're thinking of going VIP. I guess we'll see what happens in the next few months, but I know a few who may want to attend Roo next year, and (I haven't yet) but may try to convince them to do VIP. If we have an add number on our side as well maybe we can split with you.
Hey LeafsFan! For sure. WE have a definite 3 for us going. We definitely need someone to purchase the one tix........ What a drag that they don't sell singles! Maybe this year tho they will. Lets set up a plan. We are definitely going this year and are leaving Tuesday this time. Also I have a friend who plays fiddle for the Johnny Reid Band. He records in Nashville all the time and leaves from Pembroke. He tells me its a flat 16 hours from Pembie all the time and they cross at Bufflao. It took us 20 hours exact from Pembie going through Detroit. What are your thoughts on the Buffalo border?

I think if you compare Buffalo and Detroit the times are pretty close, plus it depends how fast you drive. It took us about 15 hours last year (but from Tor), although we really took our time, as we left at like 3-4am. I don't think it's a bad choice either way.
As I recall there were lots of people looking to split last year. You post on here a pair bit, plus you're a female so I don't think anyone would be afraid to trust you. Just find someome willing to front you the cash, exchange address and phone info, and most importantly talk to them on the phone. I think if you trust your gut you'll have a smooth transaction. I've dealt with ppl over the net many times and had to trust them. Never got burned once.
I'm not sure when we're leaving, but we might make it an extended vacation, so maybe leave early or stay later. Guess we'll see when the time comes, but we can always meet at the holiday Inn Thurs morning and caravan in together. It's always nice to camp with ppl you kind of know.
Yeah that would be great Leafsfan! We will be staying in Murfreesboro again because we couldn't find a hotel in Manchester. We definitely will be leaving Murfreesboro early. We are totally kool with buying all the tickets for sure but we will need someone to buy the extra ticket. You see the news on the NRU reactor in the news lately about Atomic Energy of Canada? The isotope production shut down? It was just before Christmas, anyhow, back to my point. That reactor is the one I work in!!!

Last year we stayed in Nashville on Wednesday night and drove in early Thursday. This year I won't park so close to the hotel and be sure to arrive earlier. VIP was a mess last year. I think this year we'll get a hotel much closer the night before.
I didn't catch the last thing you said. Do you mean you lost your job? I hope not, but if so I hope things are working out well and funds are okay for Roo tix.
No no I didn't lose my job at all, did you hear in the media, how the reacotr got shut down for safety purposes, and now we are back up and running. Hell they couldn't ever get rid of me, I'm so far up on the seniority list with "Power Workers Union" the reactor is up and running again and producing isotopes for medical research and cancer etc.

No sorry didn't see the news. I don't watch the news much, and when i did didn't notice anything about any reacotr getting shut down. Glad is all okay though - and good to see your job is nice and secure : )
VIP didn't sell out until about 1-2 weeks before Roo last year, but I still got them on the first day they went onsale. I mean if Zep is the headliner I wouldn't risk it. If someone like PJ (although I can see them as a Friday headliner) headlines I think it'll take longer to sell out.
Well I guess we will see. I got room specifically saved on my card for the tix this year. Dale and I mapped out our trip lastnite. We will drive to Kentucky on Tuesday, then to Murfreesboro on Wednesday and get all our essentials. Can't wait!! After last year and walking a good 25 minutes to get to Centeroo, we are in no way shape or form, going GA this year.
Too everyone who goes GA, don't let my disgruntleness deter you. Its a great time.
