this time around, i am strictly wearing sundresses. and i need some new non-croc (sin, i know) shoes. i wore my little pumas last year, they were perfect- light, no blisters, pretty cool. but i wear those things like it's my sole mission in life, so they're DEAD.
So I won a Kariza... one of the shorter ones (fell in love with the bright colors - reds and purples and oranges). It ended up being less than $20 including shipping. Once it arrives, I'll let you know what I think and will take some photographs of my 5'3" boobilicious size 12 bod in it ;D
so...how YOU doin?
After I posted I thought... wow that will show up with the recent posts thread and all the world, not just the girlies will see.

okay, I just did a quick search and came up with like 10 companies. Many are for stage makeup, not just Halloween costumes, so I'm sure they'll be brighter

Last year was my first 'Roo, I went braless the last day (i am a 32G!!!). This year, no change in bra size, yes, 32 G!!! I will only be bringing one bra, just for fucks sake... but I plan on wearing a bathing suit top under my clothes. JEZZ, I WAS NEVER NAKED TO MAKE THAT CLEAR. Also, Cotton flowy skirts too fall asleep in anywhere and wrap myself up in if I felt cold. Also, long sleeve wool knit cardigan worked best after dark, mine belonged to my mom in college. This year, I actually bought at Target a cotton wear 4 ways tubedress/skirt... so that will be worn two days probably. The less clothes the quicker to figure out. MY feet always swell, so I suggest sneakers, proper support... I did that last year and was fine, take them off when you get settled at a stage, it doesn't take long. for chaffing, i think they say gold bond is the best.
oh, i did wear makeup. sweet proof foundation and waterproof eyeliner, and actually got a lot of compliments for my waterproof eyeliner 'cause I guess it just stood out. I'm pretty much a granola girl, if u ask anyone they will tell you i just wear face lotion everyday. I just wanted extra coverage incase of sunburn. At night, glitter is a fun pick me up.

Speaking of "wear it a zillion different ways" dresses, I brought one of these to the 'Roo last year:
Wore it as a strapless, shorter dress. Very light jersey. Like wearing a lightweight T-shirt. And at least a couple of the strapless ways of tying it give decent support for the boobilicious among us. Not cheap (compared to Target or Forever 21) as it's $35 before shipping, but I've worn it to like a zillion things in a number of ways to tie it. More than worth the money, for me, since it almost looks dressy as a halter dress. Casual and fun strapless. In fact, look at my avatar. That's the dress! Get it at store.americanapparel.net/rsa8339.html
For nights, I absolutely loved wandering around in velour drawstring sweatpants and a built-in bra cami. Super comfy.
Yeah, I didn't plan well for late night last year and ended up almost every day in a pair of lightweight camo-print cropped cotton cargo pants. No desire at ALL to put on jeans and it got very cold. Do bring a hoodie!
Oh, excellent point. I brought a velour, matching zip-up hooded jacket. Tied it around my waist, in case it got cool enough that I needed it, late night. I generally ended up in a crowd and plenty warm, without it. And being still a tad overheated on the way back to the tent, didn't even need it walking home. Sleeping? Another story altogether. I'm SO planning better for sleeping in cold weather, this year. Heavier blanket. A wool stocking hat. Flannel jammies. Or possibly another sweatsuit for sleeping. Ski socks. The guy I went with huddled with me in the freezing cold, trying to sleep the Saturday night of last year. It was terrible. Amazing how like the desert the weather was. Burn to a crisp during the day; freeze your ass off overnight.
^Awww sass, thanks! I love scarves, I wear them almost every day no matter the weather! That one was like $5 in a clearance bin at Banana Republic in 2003 - one of my faves!
^you go girl!!! Yeah, I hope to lose a few extra pounds before Bonnaroo just to make the heat more tolerable and my energy level higher. I'm a touch smaller now than I was last year for Bonnaroo, but think even if I lose some more I can still get away with some fo the stuff I wore last year.
My goal is to spend the least amount possible but be the most comfortable (and sassy!) possible!
I also got a sewing machine for Christmas and this weekend plan on having my spare room set up for it. Plan on getting a simple simple pattern for a sleeveless dress and try it out with some random fabric; if it goes well I may be sewing myself an entire Roo wardrobe! ;D

haha...that's awesome!
i wore the same cotton strapless dress every day at roo. i just couldn't bring myself to change into clean clothes when i was FILTHY. maybe that's gross, i don't know. i just spent some time in the fountain when i needed to rinse off, which also kept me cool for a while since my dress stayed damp.
this year i'd like to wear something different, though. especially if i've got a new body to show off!!

I am so glad you posted this! I just got a big gift certificate to AA and don't know what to spend it on. I asked for one specifically at that store, but that was I before became skeptical of their quality vs. price. So many people talk about things getting holes in them after one wash and items completely stretching out (which i've experienced myself) Their reviews are also unreliable and it's really hard to tell if an item is good or not (ie people who haven't even bought the product can give a review, and they will give an item 1 star because it's not in a color they want!) I was looking at that dress for 'roo and I just might have to get it!

thank you!
No problem! I will say that you should order a size larger in that particular dress. But so far as wear, it's held up very nicely. I have never put it in the dryer. Only wash in cold water. Hang over my shower curtain rod to dry. It dries without wrinkles if you pull at it a little, when it comes out wet, as you're hanging it. I think that if you treat it that way, much lower likelihood of fading or seam holes. Certainly, no shrinkage! I actually have both the berry color and the hunter green. Both are coming up on a year old and got a decent amount of wear, last summer. If you have a gift certificate, well, the price will be better for you than it was for me!

So helpful! Thanks again, & Karma!
Thanks! And one last thing I've heard about that dress, but never tried. Since it has an unfinished hem, I've heard people say that you can shorten it just using shears. Just cut it to whatever length you wish. I'd definitely try some of the shorter tying methods, before trying this! Just so you know how short it is to begin with. But theoretically, it sounds like this is a possibility. I'm a shorty (5 ft. even) and it's mid-calf as a halter dress. But as a strapless, just below my knees. You probably won't want to shorten it at all. But you never know. Play with it and see what you think. It's a fun dress!
I too have found with items from AA if you wash cold and hang dry, they hold up decently. Have gotten an item with a hole in the seam straight out of the bag, but had no problem exchanging it. Not thrilled at ALL with their ethics, but by all means use that gift card darlin'!! ;D
OK I'm changing the subject. We've talked about crocs on here before. Well I dislocated a bone in my foot the other day. Its healing already, but still hurts and is pretty swollen. My crocs are the only shoes that I can wear right now. I love them for roo, but have a major problem wearing the ugliest shoes I own everyday with nice work clothes in February

Aww...i hope you feel much better soon, girl! let's look on the bright side, and say....at least you already owned the crocs, and you didn't have to go out and buy some incredibly ugly (but comfy) shoes! sorry...i'm the eternal optimist. :Dhave a karma to speed you on the road to recovery.....
I'm gonna pipe in here and say that I have lost 30 pounds since last year's Roo and I am super excited to wear a bikini top and a flowy skirt and not feel like I'm hanging out all over the place! For me, the less clothes the better, its just so hot. I'm going to pack bathing suits and skirts for during the day, and plenty of hoodies and sweatpants for at night! It gets super cold!
the only reason i rolled out of bed this morning, at 6:30 am , on the day i have no classes to work out because of the stinkin cute sundresses i wanna look good in..
this is turning out to be some good motivation if it can make me get out of bed after 5 hours of sleep, granted i'm napping this afternoon but still..=)
