Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
The one constant of Roo is that you're going to be hot and sweaty no matter how cute you may be. As a friend of mine once said I'm a "fluffy" girl and I dress for the maximum physical comfort I can get. For me that means either sundresses or skirts cause I like room for a little airflow! I usually go cotton and if I can find it really light gauzy fabrics, especially skirts. I need to look for lighter shirts myself.
BTW the ladies here talked me through the bare arm issues last year, as always YOU ROCK LADIES!
Dress in whatever way makes you happy, you will never be in another place that cares less about what you look like.

Too funny! My wife had to push all of my summer clothes off of the bed tonight so she could get in it. I was trying them all on, making different piles of: "keep", "donate", "WTF was I thinking", etc. Well, apparently I got sidetracked. *coughInforoocoughcough* Oops. ;D
I've been meaning to sort laundry FOREVER, so I know how that is fo' sho'. I have baskets full of clean clothes. WTF? haha. Ah, the shame! I've been working late all week that that was reason enough not to start to tackle folding/sorting laundry.

I was just going to do this today, hahahah. It's been such a mild winter for Michigan (knock on wood) and I'm itching to pull spring/summer stuff out so bad. Plus, I think three months is a good time frame to be able to fill in holes of my Bonnaroo wardrobe!
We're going to the Bahamas in a couple of weeks and I know they have all kinds of straw hats. Any suggestions as to style? I've been using a Miracool hat at Roo for years but it's ugly as sin and I don't know if it keeps me any cooler than just pouring some water on my head would.
im an older rooster as well. i dont think anyone really even notices what people look like at roo. im going to be comfortable. having said that...i do like to wear something i enjoy wearing. i like to wear mascara because....i just like to wear it.
i cant imagine preening. as for trying to look young. i dont mind if people think that i am trying to look young. im trying to be cool is what im doing. old lady stores dont make clothes for roo conditions. i honestly think we can relax at roo.
as for the hats...i bought two jessica simpson hats online. i love them. one is straw and one is floppy. you can google "big floppy hats" or "straw hats"
www.forever21.com/Product/Category.aspx?br=f21&category=acc_hat i find that forever21 is a nice non committal way to try something. this wont likely be a hat that lasts forever but...do you want it to? the jessica simpson hats i bought are of great quality. the one floppy clothe one can be washed and its a fabulous blue color.

When I pack I ask myself 'would I want to leave this behind/lose it?' Obviously, it doesn't go for every situation but I used it when packing for my cruise and Bonnaroo last year. Most of my wardrobe are the basics from Forever 21.
I did a lot of my shopping WAY before and was lucky to grab some great deals from the clearance rack. I think I bought 3 pair of shorts from PacSun for $15 total.
And that's beautiful! Everyone, seriously!! Whenever I went back to camp the girl next to me was preening excessively and complaining last year while we ran around with body parts hanging out left and right and covered in dust.
Not only is it not worth it to be self-conscious at roo, but don't buy into the conventional image of beauty period...!! we girls aren't born competitive or self-conscious -- these flaws are MAN-MADE

That's what I need to do! Start looking around for bigg floppy hats and some nice, cool, flooooowwing skirts/sundresses. GOSH- it's getting so close! 3 months is going to fly, and we'll all be soaking up the sunshine in our straw hats, roo-tu's, and swimsuits ;D

I'm an addict for flipflops and found the rocks on the walk up to Centeroo to be a painful challenge. If you're a flipflop freak as well, I recommend a pair of FitFlops. I ended up wearing mine almost the entire time. It's a thick 'sole' and some of them are quite cute (glitter ones, squee).

Thanks! I'm a huge Radiohead fan, but I think it's the Peppers that sealed the deal for me going to Bonnaroo no matter what.
Cuuute, but more than I am willing to pay! lol. GFT moment: we got a Sally's in town and I dyed my hair RED last night. A woman at work said it was 'glowing' haha. It's great!

I can't decide how I feel about the hip bags/fanny packs/things around your waist. I have visions of it slipping down as I'm dancing at Roo, so I'm constantly having to pull it back up around my waist. Maybe I just shake my booty too hard? ;D

I can't decide if one will work for me either. I just one of you weer around, so I could test one out! I am worried both about it's staying ability like JHo, and how it would look with my sun dresses. I feel like my usual style dress might end up bunching around one?
