I've done the soup diet cleanse a time or two before. When I was in high school, auditioning for colleges, I did the soup diet and ended up shedding 10 lbs of water weight--keep in mind, I'm a LOT healthier and fitter now than I was in high school. I MAY consider this, if I have a difficult time shedding the 5 I want to by Bonnaroo time. Honestly, I'd rather kick it out via exercise, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do
On another note, Athleta is running an additional 20% off of their sale items and I'm DYING for one of their dresses, but I still can't justify $70 for it. Do it or don't do it??? I don't knowwww.
im doing the master cleanse right now. ive done the soup cleanse many times but im not strict about it. i actually like the soup although i get tired of it. one thing i like about the soup cleanse is that i can tell what i need to eliminate by what i crave w hile on it. once i craved diet coke so i greatly reduced that out of my diet. one time i craved pasta and bread so i greatly reduced my intake of those things. another time it was salt.
ive kept up the reductions with no problem. once you go without salt, atrificial sugar, and pasta for three weeks or so........you dont really need as much of it anymore. i still eat pasta but not daily like i used to. i rarely eat bread now. i rarely have diet coke. ive reduced salt but still like a lot of it on salad or tomatoes
i feel really focused after i do a cleanse. i hope it works for you guys
oh and... .a cleanse does nto need to be long. you can do a soup cleanse in 4 days then off of it then another four days..that works pretty well. if you cheat....it still works ok.
You ladies got me thinking and I'm planning a 3 day fruit cleanse next weekend. If it goes well, I may try a week before electric forest. I've been dieting and working out forever. Lost 10lbs right away, but have been stuck there since. I'm hoping a cleanse will help. This is what I'm planning drbenkim.com/full-body-cleanse-diet.htm
Second, on the cleansing note, I'm not big on the hardcore cleanses; (I'm thinking I'd go crazy denying myself certain items) but I've been trying to adjust my over all diet to have it include more natural/less refined items.
I've been experimenting with "green smoothies", which basically means they are fruit smoothies with a vegetable snuck in there! Spinach is the easiest vegetable to mix in, taste-wise This is my favorite recipe, the taste was a little odd at first, but now I find myself craving it. pinterest.com/pin/57209857736560067/
I'm going to get some popsicle molds and try to freeze the smoothie into pops for 'roo!
Third - that's my Pinterest on the link there... It just dawned on me what a great tool it would be to share our 'roo fashions, supplies list, etc I think I need to make a festival fashion board...!

Holy crap... Clarity!! Do I need to THANK YOU! You sold me my very first hula hoop... fast forward 3 years and hooping has changed my life! I even get paid to perform now! I see you're going to Electric Forest... I'm thinking about making a video for the "hoop troupe" contest they have going...
Here she is... my first hoop, made by Clarity ;D
Aaaand here is my current collection... and I've got 3 more to make!
Just a reminder: everyone should bring something to cover up with in case they get burned. I bring a lightweight cotton cardigan and last year, it was a life-saver since my shoulders got burned on Friday. I draped it over my shoulders, under my backpack straps.
Good advice! I got burned last year on Friday and ended up missing everything on Saturday before the sun went down...I will definitely have something to cover my burn with this year!

Hey ladies! I'm new here and excited about going to my first ever Roo. I'm really happy that this thread exists! It's been tremendously helpful in helping me decide what I want to wear, and you're all so amazingly wonderful!
I was wondering if anyone had any leads on a loose, comfy pair of pants/capris/yogaish pants that work well for dancing, staying comfortable, and all that good stuff. I'm planning on wearing a few fold over skirts from Old Navy and some other loose, cotton dresses but I'd also like to bring along a pair of pants. My jeans are out of the question since I sweat like a mofo and that would just be unpleasant. I like the harem pants someone posted a few pages back since they're loose and look comfy, but I don't like the gigantic crotch harem pants have. I'm kind of horrible at fashion/clothes shopping so I have no idea where to begin looking and any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you are open to sewing, I just made these. They were super easy and are super cute on. Mine are just plain brown, since I had some extra fabric, but I really like the print in the pic.

Welcome to the GFT Patlicanim! ;D Im a fan of scrubs. My bestie just got a new job at a new hospital, and before she returned all her scrubs to the old job, I asked and scored a sweet set of pants from her. You can get them at any scrub store (most towns have one) and you can go elastic waist, or my personal fav, the drawstring waist. My mom was an RN my entire life, and I lived in her old scrubs as a teen and through college.
As far as pants go at Roo - I've taken the "night" jeans before, but never worn them - if it's cool enough for pants, i wear scrubs or lightweight pj pants into Centeroo. Also a bonus - lightweight scrubs and pj pants can roll down pretty small to jam in the bottom of your back pack, and pull on when you need them - eliminating the need to leave Centeroo and go back to camp to change. And of course, bring a spare set to actually sleep in.

Hey, I'm a long time lurker but I wanted to give everyone a heads up Old Navy has put a ton of their summer dresses and bathing suites from earlier in the season on clearance. I picked up a cute tank dress for $11.99 and one of their moisture wicking yoga tanks for $4.99.
I also have a question - I haven't been able to find bicycle shorts anywhere - I'm just looking for the plain ones that go to just above the knee to wear underneath dresses and what I've been able to find are either short. Any suggestions?
I got my bike shorts at target. They usually have a bunch of different styles. Mine are medium length and have cute fold over not-quite-skirt butt cover thing. But they definitely have all lengths
Mayo, you're my favorite! How did I not think of scrubs?! I wore jeans one night last year and was terribly uncomfortable.
Ha! Anytime, madam! For real, i wore scrub-material-pajama pants in 2008 literally every night. Super comfy, easy to roll-up if you get hot, dry fast. they're like MIRACLE pants.

I bought three pairs of these Danskin bike shorts at Walmart & they worked great last year. You can buy them in the store for I think $8 a piece.
I just bought a pair of Danskin shorts from Walmart too. Similar to these but they have more of a synthetic wicking material and a fold-over waistband (yay no muffin top!). I initially got them because I needed some longer shorts that didn't move around much and wouldn't reveal anything while doing some serious stretching (splits/straddles and what not). These worked great for my initial purpose and I'm thinking they'll work well for 'roo too. They are surprisingly breathable, (other wicking fabrics I've tried have not worked so well) and they are long enough they'll help with chafing.

Oh my, girlies, I have so been neglecting you. Didn't even realize how much I had missed! Eek!
And I just had my annual "holy crap it cannot be that late! I have not lost all of the weight or bought all of the things yet!" moment. AUGGGHHH.
Anyway, Mayo my love, I know I'm so late with this that you already found some options, but if you or anyone else is trying to think of under-tutu options, I'm thinking my trademark t-shirt skirts could be a possibility. You could easily just make one short enough that it didn't really stick out past the bottom of the 'tu, and then you'd get the benefits of a skirt without having the tulle up against your skin the whole time.
In other news, I really need to get making my own tutu...I kinda want a new one for this year, but I'm sort of running out of time to make it, haha.
What else? Walmart has had some cute dresses, including a couple with padded cups...for those in the same boob-boat as me (small enough to be okay without much support, but too...pointy...to go braless) padded cups are amazing.
OH and I also noticed that whatever company it is that makes those bandini bra things we were discussing a while back now makes a padded version. Which I WANT so bad...the normal kind make me too flat and pointy for me to want to wear them for anything but running and the like, but it seems like the padded ones could be better. I have yet to cave in to the price though. I did buy some normal bandeau tops with removable pads from Target on clearance, but I'm not as thrilled with them as I thought I would be - they flatten me out too much, plus they don't stay in place super well (partially because I had to buy 'em a size too big, haha) so they slide down and make me look weirdly shaped. Oh well.
i have the padded bra things. i have some with cami straps so you can wear them like tops or under shirts. they work well for me and i tend to "show through" a lot of tops like that
unrelated note...i went to walgreens today and i bought one of the portable female urinals. its gross but... i figure ill keep it in my tent and it may allow me to avoid the nasty portas in the morning heat or could be good at night. as gross as it is....i think keeping empty and clean wont be as bad as one BAD PP trip. those can be BAD. the worst is when you get up..your sorta clean and sorta cool.....and you go down there and they are filthy and hot and gross. not a good start of the day.

Don't you DARE lose weight Pepper. You tiny thing you.

FAntastic idea! I have my lady bits covered up, but not necessarily my legs.... tulle all day on the legs could be harrowing. I will make one of your magical t-shirt skirts and try it out!

I'm sticking with Nike shorts, tank tops, and some cotton dresses for nighttime. I usually can't stand shopping at Ross, but they've had some great things lately. Check it out!
