I did baby wipe full body "baths" in the tent before getting dressed. They work surprisingly well. I washed my hair a couple times with bottles of water and shampoo, just bent over the ground. I washed my legs and feet once sitting in the car with the door open, using a bottle of water and soap. And I brushed my teeth and washed my face every morning with bottled water. You can do it at the free water troughs but the water smells nasty so I preferred to use water we brought. This year we are bringing a solar shower and gallon jugs of water, but you will never really stay clean no matter what. Hygiene is a relative word at Roo.

When I camped, I would get up early (when the sun came up and made my tent a sauna...) and go to the water stations in a bikini with my shampoo, soap, washcloth and toothbrush. I washed my hair and upper body every morning. And for the "other" parts I used baby wipes in the tent before getting dressed I gave up on my feet after the first day - they are going to be dirty no matter what.

last year was my first and i really didnt get as dirty as i thought i would (or maybe just didnt care haha)
Wipes saved my life. I brought one of those soft plastic packages with a ton of wipes and carried them into centaroo in my backpack for face/hands, even feet while in centeroo all day. I was with a bunch of guys so I would go in the tent alone and wipe myself down in my girly parts and I actually felt somewhat clean all weekend. Oh, and I have long dry wavy hair and I just left it up and didnt even touch it and it was fine, just had to wash it well when i got home!
Hope you have as much fun as I did!
Oh, and becca i love some of your little pics where your sig is!

^^ I have oily hair, too...baby powder is the way to go!
as for showers??? pft!!! who needs 'em.... embrace your nastiness, it makes the shower you get when you get home orgasmic (just like that shampoo commercial).
I washed up at the troughs in the morning, more to just revitalize myself than to actually be clean, although those few minutes of being clean-ish were really nice. I wore a spaghetti strap, dark cotton dress so I had access to whatever I wanted to clean.

My first year I stuck to using the troughs. I'd wind up wandering back to my campsite right when the sun was coming up usually, or a little before, which was great because I beat the lines. It was really refreshing to dunk my head under and wash it. Last year I found the showers which eluded me in my first year, and honestly, the $10(I think that's what it was), might have been my best bonnaroo investment besides a mister. Took it saturday morning and felt very refreshed for the rest of the trip.
Wash in the trough. I sometime do the morning bath but normally just rinse off in the mushroom a few times. About 6pm I always put on my swim trunks, grab the soap and shampoo and take a nice cold trough bath to cool down, clean off the funk and get ready for night shift. It is a must for me. I feel SO refreshed and ready for the long night ahead. After the heat of the day, I'd rather do the cold trough than a hot shower and it's free.

I look forward to getting up before everyone else in VIP and taking a nice, long, hot shower. Assuming I find myself back at the campsite in the afternoon, a fully clothed cold shower, followed by drip-drying with a beer, does wonders as well.
i agree with all these posts. it wont be as bad a problem as you think. you can always take a pay shower and you can stay pretty clean in the troughs. if you do the troughs at odd hours you can really take your time. just remember dust and dirt are not the same as being "nasty". if you wash off you are fine and if you dont..believe me you are also fine.
the only problem i ran into last year was this. a very very sharp stalk of grass stabbed my foot. im not kidding. i have very tough feet but it made a puncture area. i worried the ENTIRE weekend about it getting infected. there was no way to keep it clean. i used bandages and ointment but its just too nasty and dusty ...plus i was washing off a lot....it didnt get infected but i believe its because im such a tough old bird. it did hurt some. i had to sit a lot. i have no idea how to avoid this problem.....but id advise everyone to wear something on your feet. you dont want this problem...and yes i had on flips when it happened - it went around the flip.
^^^ooh. I got stabbed with a stray tent stake through the flip-flop. Luckily it was Sun night, so I was pretty much done worrying about cleanliness, but it hurt
I just remember the look on the poor bastard's face that sat next to me on the plane home...220 pounds of me, just caked in filth...with a case of the Bonna-floo to boot...I'd cough and a cloud would arise.

LMAO - oh that would be priceless!
We always drive - but my parents told us to go home and shower before we came to pick up the kids - wonder if our condition the first year got to them???
