Music... Is basically my life. I always figured if it has a crap on my hearing, at least I lost it doing something I'm so passionate about! Maybe like a hardcore fisherman getting his leg chopped off in his motor?? :/ Well, maybe not like that...

That line of thinking seems a bit backwards. If music is so important, imagine how much you'll miss it when you can't hear it. No more cymbal crashes, no more deep bass. Why not enjoy your passion for your entire life?
If you love listening to music... PROTECT YOUR HEARING (especially if music is your life )
Here's another angle: You're pretty young now. In a few years you might decide to get into a trade that requires good hearing. Keep your options open .

i tried wearing plugs last year... but i gave in and just listened to Sasha & Digs bass it out until 4am...
Right on!! I was there, never had ear plugs on me though, I can still hear but after reading a post higher up about the 'eeeeeee' im thinking its either tv's or moniters humming or my hearing is starting to go down, who knows.
On a side note Monday when I got back to my house, I could still hear beats in my head from the festival. Couldnt help but enjoy it

just don't forget the stocked medicine kit - immodium, pepto, and a blister kit (you will be someones savior with that)
same... i've never had a problem with crashing back at camp. if you can't sleep through the noise you haven't partied hard enough imo. unless you're like sick or something...then it would suck to be without ear plugs.
I hadn't really worn them much, but usually keep a pair in my camera bag.....was glad I had spares at VooDoo....you should have seen the scamble about 3 minutes before Rage took the stage...security had us ALL crammed against the speakers/stage in the photo pit and suddenly everyone realized "uh....we are standing AGAINST the speakers at a Rage concert....uh...anybody got earplugs???" LMAO! And as Spook said...VooDoo was LOUDER than a normal festie anyways.... ;D It was pretty funny actually....
"Y'know that ringing in your ears? That 'eeeeeeeeee'? That's the sound of the ear cells dying, like their swan song. Once it's gone you'll never hear that frequency again. Enjoy it while it lasts. "
that was actually sampled in a drum and bass track i just heard in a dylan mix. i wondered where it was from.
I was just going to post about these. These are way better than those foam plugs. They reduce noise, but don't reduce sound quality. You can hear music great and the person next to you, but you don't go def. There also reusable. You can keep them forever.
See, I really did learn something in all those OSHA classes.

i've thought about wearing them at venues that are indoors since you're so much closer(usually) to the speakers, and its more concentrated. but at roo, no way.
i do love them, though. my dad wears them because my mom snores, and my mom sleeps like a log. made it easy to sneak out of the house when i was younger ;D
I have ear plugs and here are the uses I think work well:
1. For sleeping, it allows you to sleep later in the morning because all the extraneous noise from roo won't wake you.
2. If there is 1 band you really like, I say wear earplugs all day leading up to that show, and as soon as that band comes on, you take them out, and be amazed at all the things you are hearing :-D
I was up front right(with my bro and his girlfriend) near the bass amp at the 311 concert during Langerado this year. Lets just say that after the concert i could not hear for about an hour. But it was worth it as they put on a kick ass concert. Too bad they wont be playing Bonnaroo ..
