Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
You can go to REI (Campmor.com also has them) and get an Esbit stove to cook eggs and boil water. It will fit in your pocket and heat a small pan. I have about a dozen of these I use to make coffee with when I only made a few cups. you could scramble eggs (if you can keep them from breaking) and heat sausage.
Has anyone used one of these esbit stoves before? I've never heard of them until now.... I googled it but there's not alot of info about them, other than the "specs". What kind (if any) pot/pan do you use with it? I'm really not digging having to bring a camp stove, so this would be great for heating up water for the just-add-water meals.... if it works!
I use them all the time. The y are about the size of a wallet and one fuel pellet will burn about 8-10 minutes and boil almost a quart of water. I used them to perk 4 cups of coffee in a small percolator with one fuel pellet. A big pot takes a couple pellets.
I love them because they are easy to caryy and you can just throw one or two in your camp gear for when you need it.
Esbit are based on the german army ones. The US army ones are not as stable and the fuel is dirtier and expires quicker. Get the real Esbit ones, They are woth the extra.
BTW, I have about 10 US army ones with fuel I'll give to anyone to try if we can actually find each other at Roo.
Also any flat bottom pot will sit on it but the heat area is about 3" diameter so it's not really good for cooking burgers and such. More for soups and drinks or maybe one burger at a time in a small pan.

I'm with you Meg about the Fruit Cups. I stopped in Murfreeboro the morning of Roo and picked up about 10 packages of them....... We ate them all too. this year I'm bringing 2 5 Day coolers and a stove. So we will be eating for sure. I'm just worried that lastyear I didn't have space to wash pots. This year will be different. Hope my neighbours don't get upset with me!

I don't have much time to eat nor the appetite due to the heat...so basically each day I have a few pieces of fruit for breakfast, then live on granola bars and nutri-grain bars all day in centeroo along with as a few garlic grilled cheeses during the day. Last year the only other thing I had outside of that was a big slice of pizza that caught my eye from one of the vendors. It got me by pretty well, didn't cost me a whole ton, and nothing really required coolers or much cargo space.
Well for us its quite a trip to get there and back. If I don't get something each day into my stomach, I'll perish! hehehe
but I was upstairs thinking about Roo and lastyear we brought "Gatorade" crystals. They ROCK! They are a must have! Water is great but this provides the electrolytes you need. You don't need a funnel neither to get the crystals into your water bottle, all I used was a rolled up piece of paper. Worked sweet!
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

WE are cooking breakfast. Pancakes, hashbrowns and for us carnivores breakfast sausage!!!
You'll like my veg sausage better than your pig sausage, or I'll buy you a Mimosa! lol
Is is June yet?
Veggie sausage is pretty good. Honestly I prefer Morning Star "crumbles" (supposed to be ground beef) over actual ground beef. Boca burgers are really good also, along with Boca breaded "chicken" patties.
But I love real meat also but I like to change things up.
Any ideas for a good hardy breakfast straight from the cooler. I won't have a grill. Last year we did poptarts, but they just didn't hit the spot at all.
Last year I brought a box of cereal and little single serving drink boxes of shelf stable milk. I kept them in the cooler because milk is much better cold, but they do not need to be refrigerated until they are opened.
just for the love of god, stay away from anything that may result in an uncomfortable trip to the portojohns. Anytime spent in those things is uncomfortable, but you can definitely make things easier on yourself by eating the right stuff. What's the right stuff? Well that can vary from person to person. I say, eat everything you can before the festival just to see what upsets your stomach ;D
last year we mostly ate in centeroo, just snacked at camp. i suggest tangelos over oranges if your grocer carries them, they're really good and peel in about 30 seconds flat.
