What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
Sorry for calling you a moldy loaf of bread, Keith, but you have to admit, the comment you made about "Bo Bice" was really meant to be just nasty! It's not fair to generalize Radiohead fans, just as it's not fair to generalize jam band fans. I happen to be both! Let's all give each other an E-Roo hug and agree to disagree, shall we?

keithk1055 I apreciate your opinions on the Roo. I personally like all of the possible headliners thus far, but we are all entitled to our opinions. And yes you have been getting shredded for simply voicing your opinion. This whole exalt/smite system is a bunch of crap. Can't we all just talk about music without getting into who has a good opinion and who doesn't. Just my thoughts. Sorry to get so off topic.
its all good... i did express my opinion with an attitude and that wasnt necessary... my bad.. guess the winter has got me being all negative....i cant wait for warmer weather...3 more weeks til hash bash and the smokestack show... which btw would be a real good addition to roo... they were in relix as one of the next big bands and they played summercamp last year...they have a few good shows on archives.org... i like the shows from the village idiot as i used to live a mile up the street... the new years show is a good one...
For those unaware, the Frames came in from Ireland THE NIGHT BEFORE THEY PLAYED and flew back out within two days. So the problem of being in Europe is hardly insurmountable.
As for Radiohead and "festive" we might want to remember that America's festivals are a drop in the bucket compared to Europe's (where i don't hesitate to mention Radiohead has been dubbed "best live act" year after year).
And I for one would like to see Pearl Jam added because like many Roo'ers, they are at the top of their game.

^^^^ I too am hoping for Pearl Jam to be added. I have seen what is being rumored as the second leg of the tour too, but I've been hearing that the dates aren't true. Supposedly, the guy that posted all the dates, before today's announcement of the first leg, has said that the second leg is "100% not true". Plus, one of the Madison Square Garden dates on that second leg, is on the same night that a wnba game is scheduled for the Garden.

I still think that it is really unlikely they'll be at 'roo, but I'd love to see PJ there. I guess they could play the 5-7 slot sunday, although I was kinda keeping my fingers crossed for Allman Brothers in that space.
i was somewhat disapointed with the allman bros last time.. i dunno... i guess i just dont get as in to the shows that are during daylight... although j5 was awesome as was steve winwood but the allman bros , black crowes, bob dylan... they just all seemed to lack something.. maybe its just me i think possibly it has to do with the volume of the main stage... they turn it down so as to not bleed into other shows.. i like the main stage much better at full volume for the headliners

I liked the allman bros last year. Hope to see them again this year, but I still have yet to see Willie Nelson live. I think Willie would be great, eventhough we already have a large outlaw country lineup. Steve Earle and Shooter Jennings are already on, Willie would be great in the mix.
i had never listened to shooter until he was announced for roo but hes good... i like almost all of it and i hate country... busted in baylor conty is an awesome song

I was dissapointed with the Black Crowes also, couldn't get into them and that's a band I like. Dylan is my favorite artist, but his 'roo show was the worst of the 4 times I've seen him (although I still really enjoyed it). But I really enjoyed ABB, probably in my top 5 sets of the weekend....Most of the time I prefer the tent shows during the day though.
Added moe. to Sunday from their myspace site. So far Sunday has considerably fewer bands and I am guessing that some of the bands on Friday according to myspace might be wrong. Only 8 acts not on the list!

On the front page, down to the left under "Upcoming Shows", they had Bonnaroo listed as being on the 18th, but it seems now that they have added the "16-" back on to the 18th. Oh well, if they do a late night show I just hope it's not the same time as Beck or Oysterhead.

Thanks for the heads up Pete. It did say the 18th there before, but I'm hoping for MMJ late night so I hope it was wrong. I left them on the list (because it still might have been right) but changed it to a question mark.

yeah i figured they probably had put it up there and then changed it cause the music geeks on here are too good to mess up like that!
what if they really are playing late night and the slip up was really putting the correct date out there but not being ready to announce a late night on saturday set.
i can't imagine them putting mmj, beck and oysterhead opposite each other though. those are like 3 of my top bands to see and i would cry.

The moe. myspace has them Sunday at 8? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the Sunday night headliner slot? Would they have Moe. and Lesh and friends playing at the same time as double headliners. (I'm assuming Moe. on the smaller stage?) This Roo' schedule is gonna be an interesting one w/ all the big acts and i'm assuming more big acts to come... I wonder if they'd do that... it'd force some tough choices but I wouldn't mind catching 1st set of Moe. and heading back to Lesh.
If they were able to work around the conflicts though, I'd absolutely love to have MMJ pull a late night set. Admittedly, part of my problem keeping coherent in the late night is the overlaps and checking out acts I'm not all that familiar with. I sort of wigged a bit at during the big Primus, RR&TFB, and Ween overlap in 2004. I was enjoying the fu*k out of it all, but had a hard time concentrating on anything and just wandered around from place to place trying to soak it all in. I was with some guy with a crazy name who was camping near us...it was like "Grizzly Bear" or some sh*t...I have a picture of him somewhere. :-)
Edit: I just realized how typical of Roo that sounded. Where else can you just pick up some grizzly bear dude at 2:00 am, while checking in some of the best live music in the world?!

Alot of this is just speculation too though, we have to wait to see how things are gunna be placed. Things posted on band sites and elsewhere could change, when the roo schedual comes out it we'll start to see for sure...
Although they probably have it all figured out already they just have to confirm the final acts (or just tease us with the additions).

Aquarium,
I had the same problem that night. Actually both late nights. I just didn't want to miss anything outstanding so I ended up walking tent to tent seeing pieces of shows.
I have a strong to quite strong feeling that's going to happen again this year. There are just way too many cool shows to take in.
I have taken a look at some of the my space sites and they say either 12pm or 8 pm..so I don't think these are the times.
Sunday has the least amout of bands, but it does look a little top heavey with bands like Bonnie Raitt, Sonic Youth,My Morning Jacket, Bela Fleck, Matisyahu, and Phil Lesh. For the exception of Elvis Costello, Dr.John, Les Claypool and Common, the other bands that haven't listed dates (Amadou & Mariam,Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Steel Train, & dios )would fit well on sunday.
I still see Elvis Costello (with the other top billed acts announced this makes sense)on Friday and Dr. John (sticking with the New Orleans theme) playing Sat. The mystery is with Les and Common. I see one playing Friday and one Sunday and both can go either way.
that will suck if beck and oysterhead have competing late night sets... i would have to go see oysterhead as it is probably a one time ony chance... but i i would be heartbroken to miss a beck late night at roo
ya.. who knows.. i think oysterhead will be, for alot of people i know they are the main draw this year and that would be the best spot for them to play a healthy set.. i noticed that this prediciton list has both of them listed as possible latenights but i think beck will play between the headliners and the late night...
