I have noticed that Bonnaroo 2006 is a grab bag of genres right now. You think they could add some "heavier" bands? I wouldn't put it past the promoters after the addition with Cypress Hill. Perhaps Opeth? I notice they have an opening in June and are playing festivals. This may be wishful thinking but seems like with each additions list they come out with they're aiming to surprise.
Hands down the best festival lineup already! It will be worth the 22 hour van ride!
I'm not sure really when it was started, but I know it's been more and more rumored since there is three bands from Bonnaroo's lineup who are touring with them this summer. Plus the fact that their is about a three week gap in their tour dates during the time of Bonnaroo.
The Pearl Jam rumor is much older than just this Roo-- Superfly has been working on them for two years now. They were originally rumored for Vegoose, actually. (There were industry articles about this, I wanna say Billboard, but I can't recall right now.)
But their first and second leg tour dates leaked about three days before the first leg was announced and when that hole around Bonnaroo was there, I think the math was done for me. The only thing stopping it was the moratorium on festivals... and now that's gone too.

i think the pj rumor really got fired up by the fact that they are playing festivals again. as far as i can tell that is the only thing fueling the rumors aside from the fact pj is playing with a couple roo acts. i dont think it is likely but maybe. it would fit into the style of lineup they went with this year and hey ive never seen them and i would love to so i will keep my fingers crossed

I doubt that Pearl Jam would play a show as anything but the headliner...and those slots are already set for Roo '06. Maybe theyd be added as a 4th headliner on Thursday night?
I would be very very shocked if PJ is added. Would be awesome though.

its very possible they could headline next eyar, but pearl jam isn't a group who care about whether they headline or not. i guess we'll see what happens. hopefully we'll fidn out soon
It was a year ago today/Friday that we learned of the last Round 6 Artist Addition (including Herbie, Frames, Old 97's, Matisyahu, Galactic, Gabby, Lake Trout, Saul Williams and P. Groove).
So we could be looking at a matter of hours now, folks.
