Latest from RH's audio tech on the tour rehearsals. (sounds like they will have 60 songs ready to go... hopefully we'll hear 25 of them)
Ive started to loose track of how long we have all been here doing this! Its when I realise we have now rehearsed 60 songs that I know we are getting there. Today was amazing, the band were so tight in there performance. I think we did more today than any other in the last week or so. The Digidesign desk is becoming second nature to me, which it has to be for a live performance.
Tonight Im updating my show database, this is my cue sheet for the live shows, yet another use of computers on the road, and another screen to glance at when mixing at the same time as watching all the members of the band at the same time! No wonder I wear glasses! Even thought I know the songs inside out I use this as a safety net. Im usually looking at what I have to do 2 songs in advance.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have a delivery of all the new equipment for this tour. At the outset of the Hail to thief tour I instigated the concept that if instruments were to be carried on and off the stage during the performance they should be wireless. This alleviates the problems of plugging things in and out, and provides better continuity of the artists performance. Also it allows us to check that they are working before they are used! The FM scanning system we employ also shows us any problems we may encounter, especially in festival situations. Actually on all the festival shows I have ever done with this band they are the headline act and all other FM broadcast has stopped by then. I can also retune this system to the guitar channels if they are encountering any problems.
Again thanks to the people who have instigated technical questions, this is what Im here for, if I havent answered you yet please be patient! Sorry to say again that I am unable to tell you anything about the new material, not even the names of the tunes! And the same goes for the shows they are performing, that info is available on their website first!
I know it's been thrown out there and shot down in early threads, but considering that Radiohead appears to be doing double dates on their U.S. tour and rehearsing 60 songs, is it possible there is an outside shot of them headlining two nights at Bonnaroo?

That would be hella cool, but there's no way. They're gonna play that Monday in Chicago, so there's no way they'd play Sunday in Tennessee. They have 2 semi trucks that need a day to travel.

3 hours or so would be really swell...but Id take 2. All I ask is that they dont play 'Creep'!
Are you saying that because it's a popular "hit" song?
Or because you generally don't like it?
The song is ok, though near the bottom of the Radiohead catalogue imo. Its just the only Radiohead song that my local rock station ever plays, and this station is always milking LinkinPark, Limp Bizkit, Seether, etc for all theyre worth(not much). Its damaged the song in my ears.

I was thinking more of a Friday/Saturday thing actually.

I posted this in another thread, but thought I'd throw it on here too. It's a video for Sit Down Stand Up. Not done by the band, but it's pretty sweet.

They didn't play it for a loooong time...but they've been breaking it out recently. I have a show of theirs from Earl's Court in 2003 (maybe 04?) where they do Creep and it's rediculously good. I was blown away...just a total rocker.
In six shows, I've only heard 'em do "Creep" once, at Madison Square Garden, 10/10/03. From the song:
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." - H. L. Mencken

yes, i was at the 03 camden show..it was amazing...i really hope i can get into the Tower Theatre show.
That was one of the 5 I saw on that tour. I had a close friend in Philly from college (at Penn), so I just visited and crashed with him. Saves on travel expenses! The only problem was that I had lawn tickets for the show -- no fun if you've been spoiled by "pit" tickets, that's for sure. All in all, a (nice dream).

Yeah. Besides, you can't get pix like this if you aren't in the pit!:
