Maybe the stage at the game tent? Dj's? (In another thread I was hoping aloud that they would use the game tent stage for videogame music cover bands like Minibosses or NESkimos.)
As far elvis goes, the people going to see him will have first dibs for a good for of Radiohead coming up next. Man..I am dying to see the schedule now.
The mock schedule has been updated accordingly. Elvis to Saturday makes a lot of sense - they needed a bigger act to go on before Radiohead. I think the move as a whole makes the schedule work out a lot better. Heh, and gets Dypress Hill out of that main stage slot - I agree that was a stretch.
pjammer - I need to you hope that O-Head IS late night. We MUST band together and telepathically force AC & Superfly to give them a late night slot. It MUST happen. This is a ONE-OFF SHOW - the ONLY live O-Head ANYONE will see for QUITE A WHILE. It would be such a ridiculous rip-off for it NOT to be late night!!!
Don't get me wrong, I'd pick Oysterhead over MMJ in a heartbeat, and Oysterhead should defintely be a late-night set. However, I'd hate to miss MMJ. BTW, wasn't the first Oysterhead show back in 2000 only supposed to be a one-off? They toured and recorded an album after that, so don't discount that they'll do the same here.
Wow, great work.. Friday is going to be brutal no matter what. With Andrew Bird, Nickel Creek, Ben Folds and RRFB, it is going to be a day with a lot of running around.

The 1st show @ Jazzfest was just a one-off, yep. But Trey is booked up touring this Summer (at least) with his band and w/ GRAB. Les is touring on his new album coming out at the of the month, plus he has the novel & movie to promote. And Copeland doesn't want to tour - he's happy writing sick musical scores and being w/ his family.
Les said in a Q&A @ one of his screenings that they wont' be recording or doing any other shows than this one (at least not any time soon).
In regards to Oysterhead - Ive heard tiny grumblings that it will be a two off; as opposed to a one-off reunion. Take it with a grain of salt, but Ive heard that O-head will be at Austin City Limits as well.... From a reliable source (he knew about the GRAB dates)
Beck looks like it will be sidestage late nite sat... per his site "preforming on the night of the 17th"

I definitely don't think rebirth will get a tent to themselves... i've checked their website out and they play some tiny ass venues... they also got pretty minor billing at high sierra -http://www.jambase.com/festivals/highsierra/schedules/
I could see their being in a tent w/ dr. john and neville bros., etc. but def. not just by themselves
so... that leaves us with a late night spot open and a major headline spot open where neville bros./dr. john would be... and those are the two "major" adds I believe we will see in the near future - a headliner before radiohead (bump up costello - who I also feel is too small to play in the prime Saturday slot) and place a major headliner: maybe Pearl Jam (please, please, please), Ben Harper, Flaming Lips, who knows
and then we need a Saturday night late add as well... i'm assuming it will be some sort of jamband as they have usually filled two of the late night tents in the past and the nola jam late night would only mean one "jam" late night show.
So possibilities are galactic (i hope not), sts9, flaming lips (we'll include them in jam for now), ween (which would be sick imo), or maybe biscuits/umphrey's gets moved to saturday and then we get some sort of dj act to go against my morning jacket... that last move I think would make everyone the most happy as it would eliminate some deep conflicts.

Yea - the mainstage can be a weird crapshoot. Consider that the Frog Brigade played the main stage before, and so has moe., but they could easily squeeze onto the Which Stage, or even the largest tent if they had to.

that's what I was thinking about them getting the preservation tent... but on the bonnaroo site it has it announced that the dresden dolls will be playing in the preservation tent Sat. night... I guess it changes into a circus then and all day into Sunday or at least I'm assuming thats what this means:
The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus will be presenting their unique hybrid of vaudeville, classic circus, burlesque and sideshow at this years Bonnaroo. All day Sunday they will transform the Preservation Hall Tent into the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus experience led by Sword Swallower Mr. Pennygaff and Whipcracking Ringmistress Philomena Bindlestiff.
The BFC will also be joining the Dresden Dolls for the late night Saturday Cabaret as well as performing atmospherically all day long - not to be missed!
I have heard through the grapevine that Toubab Krewe will probably be the closing act on one of the stages on thursday night. I definitely think you will see Toubab AFTER Electric Eel Shock.
Looks good. I think you missed a couple things. I believe Dungen is going to be Late Night. It's just a prediction, but you could almost take it to the bank. Roo is known for psychedelic night-time music. They are a natural fit for the slot.
Also, at this point, there is no reason to think that Oysterhead won't be late night. I know it creates massive conflicts that way, and that's why I think it's more likely that it would happen this way. The Roo is also known for the roughest festival conflicts in the biz, especially after midnight. I think until something comes out that says they are a day time slot, we should assume they will take the Side Stage Friday after Petty. Furthermore, let us not forget that this is Oysterhead's first performance in five years, and Superfly is the REASON they exist in the first place.
Gouge - I definitely agree with a lot of your points, and I appreciate the Toubab Krewe info (I've updated Thurs accordingly).
As far as the late night stuff goes, I think it'll be interesting to see how the Preservation Hall Tent plays into all this - some of the acts listed might play there, making room for more acts. Additionally, I think a whole lot of the Bonnaroo artists would make sense late night from the kind of music they play, including Oysterhead; but I just see Oysterhead as the only act that can fill that time before Petty, and Trey having to be in St. Louis Saturday seems to push me to think they'll be daytime instead of late night. It's a debate we could have until the schedule comes out, we'll just have to wait and see... But in the meantime I appreciate everybody's feedback.

^agree w/ gtwrecked about Ohead being the only band RIGHT NOW that can play before Petty Friday... especially after Costello was moved... if Ohead gets late night we get an big band announcement before Petty - say PJ or Ben Harper

I agree trey has to play early so he can be in St. Louie the next day, I personally don't want trey to come back and play with Phil and friends, I would like Bob Wier to play with Phil, but rumor has it they are mad at each other, Dungen will have a night set, i think they will play that slot that MMJ is in on the mock schedule, the one thing that really irks me is that they don't keep the mainstage open for late night sets, image seeing O-head after petty on the main stage to me that would be even more awesome but more conflicting, who wants to pass up UMp-Bisco late night site, not me
just heard from a fairly reliable source that Ohead will indeed be friday before petty. source also said Beck before Radiohead, and Moe. before Phil. all on the mainstage for their respective days.
yup, i normally don't post rumors but this comes from someone who leaked all of the trey, mike, phil dates before they were released. obviously it's still a rumor though.
I'll bite on the rumors and update accordingly. It all seems reasonable enough - but I think that Saturday night has to have Dr. John now, otherwise it'd be lacking a lot of power. Who knows how the whole Dumpstaphunk/Trey percussion thing will go Saturday night...
