I basically said they were overrated and were mediocre at best.
I said the Shins and Band of Horses were waaaay better. I'm sorry I said that.
I like band of horses more than Arcade Fire, but they're both good bands. The Shins on the other hand are genius. All 3 albums are perfection, one of my favorite bands of the 2000's.

The Shins "Wincing the Night Away" is a great album. Really like Australia and Phantom Limb. Chutes too Narrow, pretty damn good too. Band of Horses "Everything All the Time" also has great songs like The Funeral and The Great Salt Lake.
I have to admit that both Band of Horses and The Shins haven't put out an album that blew me away like Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs". As someone who was born in the suburbs in the 80's, I really appreciate the sound, texture, and concept of this album. Really great stuff.

The last track, Beth/Rest is so so bad. Sounds like I should be running through an 80's movie with a headband and some fog behind me. And NOT in a good way.
Oh my god, you couldn't be more wrong, NoD. "Beth/Rest" is awesome. Listen to it for what it is, it's a great song. Doesn't matter if it sounds super 80s. It's a great song. Loving the new album so fucking much.
For the record everyone, apparently the title is Bon Iver, Bon Iver instead of just once.
As someone who wasn't quite as high on the debut as most folks, I'm digging this a whole bunch. "Holocene" is fu*king stellar. Geez. Need more time, but loving this thus far.
