All of SCI's shows are set at 8pm as of myspace, but I really hope they get a headline spot. Bonnaroo might get crazy and have bands on What and Which Stages duirng headliner time spot. Tool and SCI at same time would split up crowds pretty nicely.
This was a post from ?uestlove from the Roots on the Okayplayer.com message boards (the Roots Web site):
"Bonnnnnnnnneroooooooooers"
i aint snitchin just yet but uh...make sure you come all three days.... cause im about to do about 4-5 hours of work over a 2-3 day period.
and bring them tapes
And another message:
"no but smell me doing"
multi jammin shits on that level of what i did with pino and herbie hancock last year.--
and not to mention a "reunion" of another unit of mine.
should be sick.
had the whole weekend off so i told em "put me to work the entire 3 days and MAKE SURE i had a spot for The Police
Some of his messages are cryptic so not sure what this means but the Roots are my fav band so I am glad they will be involved in some jam sessions and such.

^^^ I think this increases the liklyhood of ?estlove playing in the superjam, as well as guesting with other acts. Anybody know what his "other unit" is that might be reuniting?

Besides being the drummer for The Roots, ?uestlove has also lent his talents to other artists, projects, and productions.
He was the drummer for The Philadelphia Experiment, a collaborative instrumental jazz album featuring musicians from Philadelphia, released on Rope-a-Dope Records in 2001 and the DJ of the compilation ?uestlove Presents: Babies Making Babies, released on Urban Theory Records in 2002. He also served as executive producer for D'Angelo's 2000 album Voodoo, Slum Village's album Fantastic, Vol. 2 and Common's albums Like Water for Chocolate and Electric Circus. Besides the aforementioned albums, he has also contributed as a drummer or producer to Erykah Badu's Baduizm and Mama's Gun, Dilated Peoples Expansion Team, Blackalicious's Blazing Arrow, Bilal's 1st Born Second, N*E*R*D's Fly Or Die, Joshua Redman's Momentum, and Zap Mama's Ancestry In Progress, Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Machine, among others.

Yea, I found the same thing about the Philadelphia Experiment. Here's more details.
In the '40s, a time-travel experiment allegedly occurred in a Philadelphia naval yard. This fantastic combo of Philly musicians--pianist/keyboardist Uri Caine, bassist Christian McBride, and drummer Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson of the rap combo the Roots--takes its name from that fictional event, and combines fusion, mainstream jazz, and R&B styles from the '70s to today. Augmented by guitar-legend Pat Martino and trumpeter John Swana, Thompson lays down some tricky jungle beats on the title track, while the threesome venture into the avant-garde on "(Re)moved" and into Latin on "IIe Ife." The group reincarnates Sun Ra's "Call for All Demons" as a funky instrumental, and they brilliantly revisit Marvin Gaye's "Trouble Man," while Elton John's "Philadelphia Freedom" is redone as a classical-style McBride/Caine duet. The late saxophonist Grover Washington Jr. was Philly's patron jazz saint, as evidenced by Caine's reverent solo piano rendition of Washington's hit "Mr. Magic" and McBride's funky, overdubbed one-man electric bass version of "Just the Two of Us." This threesome reminds us that the City of Brotherly Love still swings. --Eugene Holley Jr.

Anyone else get the feeling that as odd as it sounds, maybe ?uestLove will be guesting with Mule and Superjam, sounds crazy but I think that Mule will include some wild guests.
excelsiorbot caught this one already, but Gift of Gab is listed there for three sets. DJ Shadow on 6/15, Galactic on 6/16 and one w/Lateef & Headnodic on 6/16. The first two are late night's. The Lateef and Headnodic set might just be a straight up Gift of Gab set during the day. I am in hip/hop heaven.

That excites me with the news that the roots will be around for the whole roo. If you are undecided about this band or have not given them too much of a chance because of them being hip hop, please give them a chance. These guys are unbelievable live and some of the guests that they could possibly have or them being guests of just makes a lot of possible all star collabs. Under 2 months too go people.......BOOOOOONNNAAAARRRRRRRRROOOOOOOO!!!!
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

If I had to guess when the Roots are going to play my guess is Friday Which Stage, preheadliner. In fact, I'll even speculate that the preheadlining stages and tents will be
What: String Cheese Incident Which: The Roots
The Tents (in any order)
Lily Allen Dierks Bentley Black Keys.
The Pino and Herbie thing has to mean he is drumming for SuperJam which is more than likely on Sunday preheadliner (due to the fact that Mule is latenight Saturday). I'm just wondering what this project ?uestlove was involved in before is going to be.

As mentioned in his own thread, I chatted with Charlie Louvin last night and he assured me he was playing in the "second tent" (That Tent?) on Sunday. He even mentioned that a website said Thursday but it was wrong, and that he was trying to get the mainstage but was assured that other "big names" were in that tent with him on Sunday. Maybe David Bromberg???? Ornette Coleman????
