Hey man - Hope you are doing well. Quick question - have you heard anything about playing with Stanton at Bonnaroo? I see that he just got added to Pollstar's Bonnaroo section as an individual artist and was hoping maybe I'd get to see ya at the festival with the trio.
Billy and John will be performing songs from their newly released album, Mago, at Bonnaroo this year. This rare performance of Mago will take place as part of Blue Note Records' "Somethin' Else" jazz club at Bonnaroo. The first event of its kind, "Somethin' Else" aims to create an authentic jazz club atmosphere in the middle of the largest outdoor rock festival in the United States. Dates for the festival are June 14-17 and the guys are slated to perform a late night set on June 15
Blue Note Records will sponsor a jazz tent at next month's Bonnaroo festival, dubbed Somethin' Else. Among the artists confirmed to appear there are Jacky Terrasson, Stefon Harris, Don Byron, Ravi Coltrane, Robert Glasper, the Scott Amendola Band featuring Wilco's Nels Cline, Mago featuring Billy Martin and John Medeski and the Philadelphia Experiment featuring the Roots' Ahrmir Thompson, Christian McBride, Uri Caine and Glasper.
Somethin' Else will be staged in an air-conditioned tent with table seating and bar service, in the vein of a downtown New York jazz club. In addition, DownBeat magazine will host afternoon panel discussions in the space with prominent jazz musicians.

I'll put money on Apollo Sunshine being on Friday, not Thursday. I know it says Thursday, 9 am on the front page, but if you click the blog posting titled SE Tour/SXSW/Quentin(Manzarin)/Bonnaroo, it has them playing on the 15th, and it says (multi-act) next to it. Not sure what that means, but yeah...they're prolly on Friday.

Does Bonnaroo ever release an official line-up? Does anyone have an update with the times of each band? I'd like to see if there are any conflicts and plan my schedule. Thanks!

Anybody heard anything about the Foo Fighters joining the bill? heard a rumor this morning! They are opening up for the POLICE on June 23rd in LA and their schedule is open. I know they are kinda radio play/ mainstream but they kick ass in concert and always pull out some obscure covers!

This is the first that i have heard of it....
I would think that someone like the Foo Fighters would be too big to add this late, though... not to say that it is totally impossible...

I would love an acoustic set.
it would be cool if dave came on and did a special guest spot or something
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

actually i was thinking about this last week, picture this:
kings of leon>foo fighters>tool
and then on the which stage we know or we think spearhead is around 4 pm, so at around 6:45 ish, either manu chao or the roots, string cheese could get their latenight blowout final bonnaroo bash, i dont think cheese fits right before tool anyways, and either the roots or manu chao will get a latenight, hopefully the roots, although i have seen footage of manu chao on youtube and i think he would need the which stage for a latenight

wouldn't it be great if we could have an all day or all night superjam at bonnaroo with keller>string cheese>bob weir and ratdog>panic maybe ben harper too, i can't think of anyone else right now, but all those bands should be back to back on the same stage
When are they likely to release the official schedule, with times and stages? In previous years, how far ahead of the first day was this info released? Thanks!
