Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Someone from Superfly was quoted as saying they'll have some acts no one else has.
What do you think they could be?
List some guesses.
Gorillaz Phil/Trey/Bobby/Winwood/Hornsby/Medeski or some combo like that Tom Waits The Word Oysterhead The JB's Reunion/Tribute Nas The Band with Dylan (longshot) Talking Heads (longshot)
I'm sorry, but I truly think that when Mr. Mayers said that, he meant The Police. That's friggin' huge, and no other festival will have them, even though many others wanted them. Don't get your hopes up that there's an even bigger surprise than The Police.
What wouldn't be a surprise to us could be a surprise to the people who don't spend hours each day on the internet. He does say "acts" though so I think there will be some surprises outside of the Police. To most people Bob Dylan will be a surprise, and it's possible they've got another unique headliner (Roger Waters/Tool) that will gain attention.
They could also do this by booking a broad range of subheadliners like last year. Arcade Fire would be another big signing, not near as much as the headliners but they're still getting MASSIVE buzz right now.

See, that's exactly where The Police fit in, and I think it gives greater weight to the idea that they were the big surprise. But really, the only reason I push the point is because I'd hate to see people feel disappointed if/when they don't see any (other) big surprise on the lineup.
Everyone is ignoring this in the other forum, but the Tennessean had this from one of the organizers:
" Bonnaroo fans should expect a "really diverse, interesting lineup of acts" to round out this year's event, he said, adding that 2007's Bonnaroo "could be our most creative and far-reaching lineup yet. "

^That's great news, Isaac. I guess that fact that we obsess over Bonnaroo confirms that we are spoiled by what this festival offers, and I am hyped about the Police. That said, I need more suprises AC. One of those BIG suprises, like(in order) Phish, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Radiohead. Thank you and good day.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
But I guess I'm also counting some "smaller" acts that would be BIG surprises. Like the JBs or Gorillaz or The D or Weird Al or Galactic with a revolving door of amazing MCs late night or...you get the picture.
I believe Tool definitely has the possibility of being one of those "surprise acts" but it rests in the hands of AC and our glimpse to the Roo is rapidly approaching.
Considering how amazing their live shows have been recently, I think a Nine Inch Nails appearance would be awesome. I could see them playing a late-night Which stage or tent show. I mean, if Tool is considered a possibility, I would think NIN would be as well. It would definitely be a surprise, that's for sure.

RELAESE THE BANDS!!!
I guess its possible considering their statement on this year being the farthest stretching lineup as far as diversity in acts.
I was never a Tool fan, but never against the idea of seeing them play. I grew up on Alternative Rock, but 2 of my best friends grew up on a steady diet of Tool. It just never rubbed off on me. I also dont think that theyre laid back enough for Roo. Their music is largely about hate, deception, greed, etc.
But like I always say. I really can't see myself complaining if they're announced.

actually i find that most of their music is about expanding your mind. i really think you will be impressed with their performance at roo
Crippled Black Phoenix is a group comprised of the members of Mogwai and Portishead. They'll be doing some touring in Europe this spring. I don't think they'd be far out of place at Bonnaroo.
