Ok, I have to make an effort to start listening to Tool now. I've always kind of watched them from a distance, but never made an effort to get into their stuff.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

I too was disappointed to not see the heavily rumored Dylan on the list, but THE WHITE STRIPES!!!!! That's enough for me, not to mention Manu Chao, The Roots, Keller, The Black Keys, Harper, Flaming Lips, North Mississippi All Stars . . .

I would not tug on the heart strings of my fellow Bonnaroo lovers, I know how disappointing it can be to read all these rumors that turn out to be something made-up, this is for real.

Woo Hoo! Of course not every band is my favorite, but I am sure there will be enough schedule conflicts alone with the initial lineup to provide 4 days of happiness. Come on June!
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. So hit me with music. Hit me with music, now, yeah. Hit me with music. Brutalize me with music.

well......im not exactly THRILLLED with the lineup.....its sad to say but this may be the first year i dont know most of the bands besides the big ones......o well that just means new music listening experiences for me yay.
this is great - solid lineup! now we just need MMJ and MMW to be announced in one of the future artist announcements. i'd prefer to see a Phil reincarnation instead of Ratdog (or better yet, in addition), but this is primed to be a stellar year at roo!!

WOW. I don't have much to say. Three of the greatest straight up rock and roll bands in the world (Kings of Leon, Hold Steady, WHITE STRIPES) with WEEN and WILCO and FLAMING LIPS....

I'm obviously in the minority here but, i'm not all that impressed with the initial line-up. Oh well, I'll just keep my fingers crossed for some additional artist "bombshell".

The bottom names are pretty impressive, imo. Clutch is a fairly popular heavy rock band that tours alot (late nite for them, almost definitly), Ralph Stanley is a bluegrass icon that I've been waiting to see on a Roo lineup, Aesop Rock is near the top of the underground hiphop heap, Mavis Staples received a Grammy Lifetime award a few years ago, Richard Thompson should be amazing, and you have TLG, The Slip, Railroad Earth, and Cold War Kids down there as well.

So much karma for you!! Excellent work!!
To me, the fact that MMJ isn't on the lineup makes it more believeable. I was skeptical that they would return for a 5th straight year. They may still, but their absence certainly doesn't make me question this lineup.
And on that note, are there any programmers out there that can attest to how difficult it might be to hack into the Bonnaroo website on the day before the announcement and put up a dummy like this? My intuition tells me the chances are very slim, and that this is the REAL DEAL.
And I for one could not be more pleased. There are so many names on that list that thrill me, including many that I hadn't even considered (Gillian Welch, Ween, Tortoise, Ralph Stanley) that I had completely forgotten about the lack of Tom Waits. It's just so damn good it makes up for everything. Thank you, Bonnaroo gods.
It does not have your Gender listed, but as huge a Bonnaroo fan as I am, I would kiss you either way. You are the Shiznittobam snipsnapsally! Thank you for helping me know it before everyone else. You got some karma comin your way brotha!
That lineup made me cream my pants 7 times in 9 seconds. With a late addition of Primus and MMJ, this could be the best Bonnaroo yet. Hard to say, but I've been every year and I'll be the judge.
