I also think that sts9 and sci arent as similar as people are making them out to be. I think both would be pretty full, obviously sci moreso, but conflicts are something you find anytime at bonnaroo.
Mule is going to be killer, like someone said on this topic earlier in a different thread I really would like this to be like Off the Deep End and just be a mass of people on stage all jamming. I'm so excited for June
i am really unfamiliar with mule. they didnt impress me at roo so i havent looked too much more into them. i made the same mistake witht he black crowes after their daytime roo show did nothing for me. and they completely melted my friggin face at all good!! so what should i check out. they are saying a special show. what shows in the past are regarded as "special" is dub side of the mule where i should start???

Should be a good show. After his year off, Warren comes back with guns blazing.
Anybody there when Warren came out with The Meters Late Night to destroy Voodoo Child?? it was sick.
I was there. Remeber the naked guy jumping on stage? I also stopped by the CD tent, and saw Warren the next day while he was doing an interview, and snapped a pic with him to boot. he mentioned the naked guy from the night before jokingly, as some of the strange things that happen to performers at shows.
I may be bias on this one but Mule is def so to check out. Ive seen them a number of times live and they never dissapoint. Plus if they say this a special show oh man, i can only dream of what might happen. I may hyping this up too much but I am hugh fan.

The Deepest End is a pretty cool live cd and a pretty special show. Its from their concert at jazzfest a few years ago I think. It comes with 2 cds and a sweet dvd of the show. All the bassists that contibuted to the deep end cds come out and play. There's TONS of special guests on there and could be a preview of what we may see at Roo............
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
haha this just keeps remindin' me of the annual christmas jam in asheville warren puts on each year. the mule always closes the show with a long set from like 1am until 4(give or take). And the whole time @ the jam there is never less than 3 guitars on stage :-)
well there are usually 3 latenight. so id guess about 20,000 each. alot of people are too exhausted and go to camp. big mistake. miss as many day shows as you have to in the cinema tent napping so you know your ready for latengiht. thats where roo goes down!
if you want room for a blanket or to dance like a maniac you will not be under the tent. but it sounds great out for a ways. just stay cenetered. dont get too far off to the side or it will sound like crap.

Yeah I would say it is probably closer to half.
Probably something near 3/4 right as the latenights are beginning, but then people dwindle off. By 1-2 alot of people tire out, and sleep. By 4 or so, you only have the fans of whatever band is playing. After that you get the real hardcore Rooers who stay up till the last late night is done (which often times is not till the sun comes up).
I wonder if Warren will also do a solo acoustic set? His set in '04 is one of my favorite 'Roo performances ever. His setlist was spotless. That version of "In My Life" is fantastic.
well i listened to dub side of the mule while out of town this weekend. that afternoon roo show did mule no justice. this nye show is amazing. i cant wait for this latenight. i really hope there isnt some huge conflict. both super jam and tortoise seem like possible likely conflicts that would make for a tough call.
Tell me about I listen to The Dub Side at least once a day. When I first heard It's a Man's World I was on the "T" and I was like whats this, holy sh*t its James Brown, he never stops coming up with different stuff. Very excited about latenight.
Late night Mule...that should be sick...I'll never forget the first time I saw Warren back in 2000 opening for Ben Harper in Richmond at the Landmark Theatre
We should take bets on who guests with them throughout the show. I could see someone like Les showing up even if he wasn't booked at the fest. God that would be great.
Man, so we have STS9 and Gov't Mule late night now, so we aren't getting the Cheese late. That's a dissapointment, like the first big one for me.
Edit: ON the plus side, I just realized that Ben Harper is playing the same day as Mule now! Man, I would die if either one came out during the other's set - especially if they did Voodoo Child together.
Is there any history of Harper and Haynes playing together?
When I saw Warren open for ben there was no guesting
