so as most people are aware bonnaroo/superfly/ac gave a couple shout outs in the winter to tenacious d throught their website and emails. of course most people figured the d was playing roo this year. but as your also aware of they arent on the line up.... what gives.
does anyone else think they will be there. or more importantly, can someone dig up jack blacks schedule and see if he'll be filming a movie in june or free to play.
i thought they'd be playing after their tour dates were put up on the bonnaroo site. it would be fantastic if they played...i'm still kind of holding out for them playing.
all we know is that they ride and they ride and they'll never subside and they'll ride 'till the planets collide. and if we say that they do not ride, they'll tan our fucking hides.
remember jack black did a video for bonnaroo last year about global warming, they played it over the big screens in the breaks between what stage sets. maybe part of the deal was "you make a video for us, we will send an email to everyone who has bought a ticket and tell them about your tour" kind of thing. but i am really hoping they will be added, i want to see the D.

The Greatest Rock and Roll band at the the Greatest Rock and Roll Festival.........oooooooohhhhhhh bring the D and they shall bring the ROCK. The movie would be geat at the cinema tent too.
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
It appears Jack Black isn't tied to any film projects and the band did tour this winter. It's possible I suppose.
i saw them in the winter, did anyone else? they did a huge stage show, first half of the set they were in kyles apartment with a couch and all, and then they died and went to hell, the backdrop came down to reveal a huge stage setup to recreat hell, and the second half of the show was down with a band backing them, antichrist on guitar, colonel sanders on drums, and charlie chaplin on bass.

I read somwhere that they had opened for Spinal-Tap last year. That is one of those "I could die happy things"!
That would be wicked. The D is a necessary add, I havent seen them since I saw them in Grand Rapids in 2002 and I desperately want to see them again so they could Rock My F*kin Socks Off..
i would like to see martin sexton and keller williams sit in with tenacious d. that would be a crazy sight.
Horray! A fellow Martin Sexton lover! That man is so amazing!
i agree. what an awesome talent. he was awesome at gathering of the vibes and it was great wehn he came out with deep banana blackout. he did a reach around guitar solo on fuzz. it was great. i hope he gets added to roo. it seems likely. and hes on kellers new album and rainy day is one of my favs on there. id love to see them do that at roo! or anything together for that matter.
